I t looks as if there isn't any point complaining about regressive soaps.. they seem to be in demand. Take for instance Sony's Baabul ka Aangann Chootey Naa.
An 'at-work' track involving Aastha Chaudhary and Vandana Sajnani had to be cut short because it wasn't working. The action has now moved back to the homefront.
Producer Ratna Shah says that the TRPs shot up only when domestic politics resumed. "I love liberated-woman-fights-back scripts but the viewers ultimately call the shots," she sighs. Losing track As a result of her track's premature end, Sajnani's hopes of a TV comeback have been thwarted. She was promised a key character who would bring the lead couple together.. which didn't happen.
The actress claims viewers weren't given enough time to connect with her role. "It's the producers' loss.. if my track had stuck around, they could have got the advantage of my name and popularity," she says.
