Dasgupta is a Bengali surname. Didi bhai means Didi in Bengali.

I guess to make the relationship with the person sound more affectionate. Actual word for elder sister is didi in Bengali. But its kind of weird to hear this from people who are conversing in hindi and then they start using some bengali terms because suddenly they remember that they are Bengali
