Overdo's ending explained

The ending of Overdo has completely fried my brain, so I decided to make my own post .

( to finally figure out what the ending actually means)

So, imagine that after Overdo ends, a press conference is held with the hero zhang linghe aka Murong Qing Yi and the fans.

Fan: “Why weren’t Murong qingyi kept alive in the ending?”

Zhang linghe:- “They killed almost everyone who could have saved him in those last two episodes.”

“his assistant, whom he had assigned almost 90% of his work to, had already died before him.

So obviously, he wasn’t around to save him either.

They didn’t kill everyone in the story, but they killed most of the characters.

So there has to be someone left alive to save him, right

“And Ren Suzu? She was using Murong family as a pawn to take her revenge from the very beginning.

So how could she possibly save him?”(

Without any help)

“By the time it was his turn, everyone who could have saved him had already died.”

“So the director neither properly killed him nor properly kept him alive.

He simply left his fate to your imagination.”

“Now it’s up to you guys to decide whether he survived or died.”

Fan: “But seriously… Murong Qing Yi alive or dead in the drama?”

Hero: “Your guess is as good as mine. I’m just as confused as you are.”

And that’s how the director successfully turned the hero’s survival into a fan guessing game

Zhang linghe:- so in my opinion

Most of you think Murong Qing Yi is already dead because social media is full of sad edits of that scene, so no one can imagine anything beyond that.

But the ending has been left completely open to the fans.

If you ask me,

In that particular scene

The Murong Qing Yi's loved ones were motivating him to get up, not taking him away.

If you listen carefully to their dialogues, you’ll notice that.

I think the censor board cut some parts while editing the episodes, which is why everyone is so confused.

I think I need to read a really good novel to get over this trauma.

I waited for this drama after Pursuit of Jade, and the production team had created so much hype around it.

I honestly never thought it would end up disappointing the audience this badly.

I wish you had watched it too so we could have discussed it together.

Ps: I’ve been bugging Leprechaun for the past two days, nonstop talking about the ending of Overdo

I still have a long way to go! Atp I find more absurd flaws as episodes progress, till the time I reach the end I think I'll be happy that everyone is dead

@bold My Instagram feed has been driving me crazy too.

Overdo fan edits and reels keep showing up on my feed all the time.

What makes me laugh even more is that this Chinese drama has started feeling more like an Indian drama because fans are making so many edits using Bollywood songs.

And when it comes to the ending scene, they’re putting every sad song imaginable over it and making everyone even more emotional.

The production team really played this smart.

By keeping the ending open, they’ve given people more reasons to talk about the drama, which will naturally increase its visibility and viewership.

The ratings are average, but apparently, people are saying that its viewership has already surpassed Pursuit of Jade
