There's a huge difference between the novel and the drama.

In the drama, Ren Susu and Murong Qingyi first connected through letters.

Ren Susu used to send letters to Mulan, but Mulan was no longer living at the rented house, so those letters ended up in Murong Qingyi's hands instead.

They started replying to each other's letters and got to know one another that way.

The drama is mainly about a human trafficking case. Girls from an orphanage were being sold into brothels, and Ren Susu was on a mission to expose the trafficking ring.

During that mission, she met Murong Qingyi in person for the first time.

Mulan had been sold by the orphanage to a man who kept her at his house.

Ren Susu went there to rescue her, but during the struggle, that man was killed. However, the blame fell on Murong Qingyi.

Later, Murong Qingyi confronted Ren Susu and asked why she had done it.

She admitted that she had only used him. Then she grabbed his hand, which was holding a gun, and pulled the trigger on herself, making it look as if Murong Qingyi had shot her.

She did this to protect him because she didn't want him to be dragged into the case or face any legal trouble.

Unfortunately, her plan completely backfired.

The dead man's family relentlessly targeted Murong Qingyi.

He was sentenced to three years in prison, and during that time he was brutally tortured.

They permanently damaged his hand, destroying his dream of becoming a surgeon.

After that, he could never perform surgery again for the rest of his life

His entry was in a military uniform but he didn't hold any post. He was a surgeon, he didn't switch to GM, so what is he doing? His brother constantly says he'll send him abroad for higher studies, to study what?

There's no title for him. Just like his dialogues, he's just there. Not a Li, not a Murong either, drifting here and there, living in hatred, resentment and for the sake of living. Idk what the writer was smoking when they came up with this character!!!??? When the drama started filming all the teasers featured ZLH in the military uniform. The scene itself didn't even last full 5 mins.

And Murong Qingyu severing Ren Susu's tendons was peak comedy for me. He did that to avenge his brother, ALSO he did that to the woman whom his brother loves - make it make sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And regarding the letters Ren Susu sent, according to the timeline Fang Mulan was kidnapped when she was 9, stayed in the orphanage, later went to Huos' - so now why would Ren Susu write a letter to an address when Fang Mulan is staying captive in Huo's mansion??

The editing is also inconsistent in some places. For example, when the child actor is speaking, the eye contact suddenly shifts in between, making it obvious that the scene was edited poorly.

Seriously, who writes this many tragedies for a single character?

Even his own mother doesn't like him.

After such a push and pull relationship it's better they stay away from eo than have a happy ending. A cliff was missing, if not they could have thrown him off the cliff too. Bullets, iron bar, severed tendons sounds so entry level injuries

I would have appreciated if antis put in some actual effort to watch this storyline and nitpick on some real issues rather than making noise on the AI opening credits, ZLH landing on his stomach in the name of diving, poor CGI, and fake plane scenes... like we have so much to be angry about and the issues they listed aren't even on the list

Reading your post genuinely made me laugh.

I still don't understand the open ending. At the end, his late loved ones tell him, "Get up. You have to go back to your family"

If I'm being optimistic, maybe he somehow found the strength to go back to his family. But realistically?

First he gets hit in the chest with an iron bar, then there's a bomb blast, and after all those injuries we're still supposed to believe he survived?

At that point, the ending stopped following logic and started running purely on the audience's imagination!

The acting was excellent across the board, whether it was the heroine, the hero, or the parallel lead. (Loved the child artist)

Overall, I really loved the fashion and styling.

The only major problem is the storyline, which has far too many loopholes.

I honestly didn't expect that after putting the characters through so much tragedy from the very beginning, the writers would still end the drama with such an unsatisfying ending.

Ps :One thing I really loved was the ending song that plays after each episode.

It sounds so good, and I looked forward to hearing it every time the episode ended

The dance sequence was choreographed so beautifully, but when it was shown in the episode, they kept inserting flashbacks in the middle of the performance and completely ruined the flow.

They packed it with so much anxiety and tragedy that I think I'm done with the genre... at least for now.

Still, I'll try watching Arsenal Military Academy .

I wanted to watch My Journey to You, but I don't like Zhang Linghe's opposite that heroine. ( Her actings I can't tolerate it's so irritating)

On the other hand, I really liked the other heroine from Love Between lines . I actually thought she was going to be paired with Zhang Linghe. (Before I knew who was paired with whom, I actually thought she was Gong Ziyu's love interest. )I wish Zhang linghe ke opposite Lu Yuxiao ko rakhte.

The ending of Overdo reminded me so much of Titanic., and this drama gave me a very similar feeling.
