Crossclimbs

Crossclimb # 1

The idea here is that you have to solve each clue for a 5-letter word and then re-order the words so that only 1 letter changes at a time. For example, train to trail is N becoming L. These things aren’t done in order, but rather together. So for example, for train the clue could be “a competition route” but on its own that clue could point to 100 different things. To get points you need to get both the words right and put them in the right order. These are all 5 letter words.

Clues:

1) A severe or bare quality

2) A pile of objects

3) A dark colour

4) To look fixedly

5) Loose or lacking tension

Answers:

STARE = to look fixedly

STARK = a severe or bare quality

STACK = a pile of objects

SLACK = loose or lacking tension

BLACK = a dark colour

Crossclimb # 2

The idea here is that you have to solve each clue for a 5-letter word and then re-order the words so that only 1 letter changes at a time. For example, train to trail is N becoming L. These things aren’t done in order, but rather together. So for example, for train the clue could be “a competition route” but on its own that clue could point to 100 different things. To get points you need to get both the words right and put them in the right order. These are all 5 letter words.

Clues:

1) A fold in fabric

2) A loud animal cry

3) A loaf product

4) To separate or damage

5) Gloomy or depressing

Answers:

BREAD = a loaf product

BREAK = to separate or damage

BLEAK = gloomy or depressing

BLEAT = a loud animal cry

PLEAT = a fold in fabric

Crossclimb # 3

The idea here is that you have to solve each clue for a 5-letter word and then re-order the words so that only 1 letter changes at a time. For example, train to trail is N becoming L. These things aren’t done in order, but rather together. So for example, for train the clue could be “a competition route” but on its own that clue could point to 100 different things. To get points you need to get both the words right and put them in the right order. These are all 5 letter words.

Clues:

1) A rock or mineral

2) Having extra

3) A place where land meets the sea

4) Past tense of shine

5) To give someone a portion of something

Answers:

STONE = a rock or mineral

SHORE = a place where land meets the sea

SHARE = to give someone a portion of something

SPARE = having extra

Had fun? Well, we’ll find out how your adventures went…but until then it’s time for the next round!

What if I told you that for this round you could end up losing more points than making? I know, I know. You want to throw ande and tamatar at me. Well, sucks for you. Cause you can’t!

This is the “reverse” bingo round. In this round, you want to avoid getting a bingo! If you get a bingo, then sucks for you because you’ll lose points! And no cheating. I will be checking each bingo card carefully to see if you got a bingo that you didn’t mark off and that will lead to even more lost points!

divider.png

image.png

bullet.png For each card, I will count a maximum of 2 lines as bingo. For each bingo, you will lose 100 points.

bullet.png If I find a bingo when I check your card and it’s one you didn’t mark off (only up to 2 lines per card), I will subtract an additional 100 points, thus you will lose 200 points for the line.

bullet.png If your bingo card has no bingo on it, then you will earn 700 points.

bullet.png If your bingo card has 1 bingo on it, then you will earn 400 points.

bullet.png If your bingo card has 2 bingos on it, then you will not earn any points. You will lose points only.

divider.png

So, don’t call bingo! Simple as that!

Similar to round 1, I will have 3 live times. After all 3 live times are completed, I will then send the numbers in a PM to everyone!

Live time 1 on IF – Aug 4 9 PM IST

Live time 2 on Discord – Aug 4 11 PM IST

Live time 3 on Discord – Aug 4 11:30 PM IST

IF thread - https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/members-lounge/5384669/bingo-live-sessions

Discord - https://discord.gg/dArBsFsVr

Your completed cards are due back to me by Aug 5 11:59 PM IST.
