People think they know India based on what media channels promote, these protests are normal for us and most protests don't get funding or the limelight, I have been into many such protests that's why I was surprised at people acting as though it was such a unique thing

Also funny part was "They are blocking food for kids" I heard that for the first time in my life, people bring their own food to protest site, we don't get funding or fancy food

Most of us don't even think about eating while we protested because the environment is different there

There's a difference between protest and party

There may be differences in the coverage of protests... I read about at least 12 other protests marches (the news in the Current Affair section have reported others... also with police violence, btw)... but the Delhi one was a crucial one to get international coverage to underline the way the current government handles justified protests... it is v e r y revealing that the home ministery (Amit Shah) enforced a certain behaviour on the police by replacing the former chief with one who would not hesitate to employ violence against the mostly young protesters and even allow non-police people to use violence against the protesters.

The CJP concentrated on the governmental area... others on the local one... important is that other protests got noticed, too.

Edit: Actually, reading in the Current Affairs News what in other ministries is done and how Indian people are betrayed and looted, I wonder that not much more protest-manifestations are done...
