Vijay Sethupathi i could see but kajal??? Huh

Vivek Oberoi has such a modern face I can't take him seriously anything other than South villain lol.

Mohit Raina as shivji??? Sign me up. Damn so happy for him

So agree about srj being a good krishna, idk who was in kalki but that dark skin Krishna could have been good too.

Pooja is fantastic actress who's typecasted into mytho now but her fandom is so annoying. Another sai Pallavi part 2

Hahahaha ar Rahman fatigue is real 🤣🤣

So true i mean today's generation who watch a show fron insta reel thinks their epics are superior. They never watch the og ones cause they want the flashiness I guess. But dd ramayan and Mahabharat is the cultural icons at this point, similar to the epics. It had it's limitations but atlst sagar and chopra actually respected the books, put the budget into it, fantastic actors, bgms and the dialogues are still hard hitting.

Even ndtv ramayan was so good. Idk why people don't talk about it. Gurmeet and debina really sold Ram Sita. Gurmeet fron this show to Maan Singh khurana is so underrated, people hype up one expression Barun Sobti who single handedly tanker asur s2 and somehow forget this show and actors. The grandeur was great too. It's sad ndtv imagine shut down cause I know if people discovered it now they would be obsessed

This siya ke ram hype is mainly due to the leads being fair and handsome. That literally it. Ashish is a good actor but online people really thinks itv which now has such limited viewership, two actors from that industry out of which one is so limited, will be watched by majority of Indians and also hyped. Next level delusion. Like it or not people will also go to movie for ranbir. How many people will put money for a movie led by Mohit raina? Sad but true. Especially not the insta crowd

I think Malhotra had a huge interference in the casting process. Look at Dhurandhar and look at Ramayana, both movies have the same casting director - Mukesh Chhabra. The man delivered and how in Dhurandhar, you can’t find one actor or actress who can be replaced by someone else in their respective roles but here he bungles up? In the most expensive movie made in India? I doubt it. Truth is Yash is a co-producer, RK was Malhotra’s choice and he was onboard as Ram even before Mukesh was contracted. So the choices are heavily influenced by personal stakes as well as relationships, and we can see the results.

Kajal is playing Mandodari while Sai is Maa Sita, go figure. She’s said her role is short and I assume we will get 5-10 minutes of her max across both the movies.

Kalki’s Krishna was probably some junior artist because no big name would’ve been kept a secret had they been cast like we saw Vijay Deverekonda is Arjun in the brief scene where Prabhas’s Bhairava is revealed as a reincarnation of Karna.

I don’t think it’s the fatigue that’s the issue here I find Rahman overrated tbh, but also his voice is not a match either for Yash or the kind of delivery that Shiv Tandav Strotam requires. I personally hope and prefer it’s someone with a strong voice and a good command over Sanskrit as a language. I know he’s not a singer but look up Maharaj Kalicharan on YouTube and hear his version of the Shiv Tandav Strotam. The voice is deep, rich and will work well with Yash as well as the enunciation of the words is perfect. So, someone like him or him!

People who haven’t seen the OGs miss out on a lot. The actors more than made up for what the technology lacked. Now the technology exists but the actors lack.

The only thing that I am happy about in this movie is watching Mohit Raina as Mahadev, because man has left such an impression on us that it’s gonna be impossible to find any other actor in the next couple of decades who can match his aura. We found a lot of actors who could play Bhagwan Krishna and Bhagwan Ram flawlessly, but he’s the only Mahadev. He looks like he was born for the part. There’s a serenity in his aura and the kind of calmness and warmth in his eyes we all imagine for Mahadev. I really hope his role is not just blink and miss and that’s also why I hope the Shiv Tandav Strotam is retained because even the singer who sang it for DKDM was absolutely brilliant.

there is a lot of hate for casting bt for atlst ranbir i would say makers went for a very safe choice. and a bit obvious cause apart from ranbir and ranveer there is no one. and i doubt ranveer was interested, his image before dhurandhar wasnt that good. complelty unfair

they had lots of choice for sita, sai pallavi was probably taken for her pr or something cause lady's acting is same everywhere. she keeps a very pious image maybe makers thought it will be better if 2/3 main leads are loved .lol

oh yeah so agree. mohit was so good in mahadev, mouni and sonarika were good in their roles too

kalki's krishna had such aura being faceless lol. vijay was fine bt krishna was something else

now that glimpse of movie is lukewarm in response i hope bgm and music is better, like why they would hire ar rahman and hans zimmer and waste them

Malhotra has worked with RK before with Brahmastra and they apparently hit it off very well. Malhotra wants to branch out as well I think and he knows that with the current economic situation, Hollywood is going down and believe it or not, but Indian movie industry is doing better in comparison. He knows as the economic situation in India gets better so will the production values and I believe he doesn’t just want a foot in but also a stake in the pie as a front runner. Not a lot of production houses are developed enough to have their own VFX company - I believe SRK owns the most prominent one under his banner - Red Chillies. Malhotra has contacts in Hollywood because his company has been working on the VFX/CGI and other special effects for Hollywood movies since ages while being located in India.

RK was cast as they had hit it off, he has a legacy surname in the industry and is well connected to most prominent film families; his wife is also quite a networker. Yash got big on the scene post KGF and they needed a big name who had southern India looks to play Raavan and it helped he was a popular face too who was willing to co-produce.

Sai could’ve been brought in for her simplicity but the fact that she completely lacks the kind of beauty, charm and delicate features that Maa Sita is described as having is where she looks a complete miscast. Then we know her political views and it irks us more to think of this woman playing one of our most revered goddesses because… honestly they could’ve had her in the movie and made her play Mandodari or even Devi Ahilya and it wouldn’t have mattered as much as it does when she plays Maa Sita and doesn’t give us one percent of the feel that we should when we look at her.

It doesn’t help that side by side RK and Sai don’t make an attractive couple together either and we know Maa Sita and Prabhu Ram are literally the human incarnations of Laxmi Narayan. They should look perfect together and not a mismatch in every single way possible there is for a couple.

Ranveer’s not been approached for this movie but he would’ve perhaps been a better cast and pulled it off better because a) his physique is good and more importantly his face is very expressive. He can play the calm aspect of Prabhu Ram as well as look fierce as a warrior. Just look at him in Dhurandhar - the scenes he has with Sara don’t have a single moment where the pairing feels off and makes us uncomfortable despite the obvious age difference between them because the attraction between them was played off entirely based on their looks. Their intimacy was more about forehead kisses than unnecessary lip-locks. When he’s angry especially in the scene post 26/11 in the first movie with Aalam where he goes Mere Ghar Mein Ghus Ke - that raw intensity has both him raging but also looking fierce without being OTT. RK lacks this IMO. His voice modulation is also excellent.

I hope the rumours about Dhar and Ranveer teaming up again for a historical trilogy are accurate because I think it would be an absolute treat for the eyes and for history buffs like me while being accurate as well as treated as intriguing rather than boring. We already know that Ranveer excels in the genre and there’s perhaps no one who can do it as well as him in Bollywood when it comes to historical fiction because man was absolutely brilliant as Bajirao and was even more awe inspiring as Khilji. Dhar is also slated to fly to Assam this month to meet with Himanta Biswa Sarma to meet with him as the state government wants to make a film about their historical hero Lachit Borpukan. Dhar is the first choice for the director who has been officially approached by the state government itself for the movie which they’re likely to co-produce and finance as well in a bid to make their state’s history known on a national level.

Truth be told I haven’t watched Kalki. I tried but it was too boring to watch and the only scene I cared about was the one with Krishna hoping to see the face but we were obviously left wanting. The director did a good job there but Vijay was about as much awe inspiring as Arjun as Prabhas was as Prabhu Ram in Adipurush and even Kalki smiley22

As for the music, truth be told I am not even a little bit excited for their choice of music directors because while Hans Zimmer is a genius in his own rights, he has absolutely no idea about Indian music or even the instruments we use or the ragas we have, he’s not one of us. Rahman was a disaster and a disgrace who dissed on Chhava after the movie was released after he made his share of money for making such mediocre trash for the movie in terms of music that it’s absolutely forgettable.

IMO Ajay Atul were a much better choice than these two because they were the music directors behind the most memorable title track in the past 2 decades of Indian TV and it happens to be the Mahabharata title track. We get goosebumps every time we hear it even now and the flute artist they got, the tune they came up with for Krishna is so soothing and feels so divine that you think Maa Saraswati herself was guiding them when they arranged those tracks and that tune. Imagine if they could do that for a TV show what could they’ve done for Ramayana as a movie? And we know they’re excellent at creating memorable tracks. Apsara Aali is theirs and it’s a masterpiece, the upcoming movie called Eetha based on a real Lavani dancer starring Shraddha Kapoor has their music and the trailer itself was awesome though we didn’t hear a single line of a single song but the BG was spot on. These men love their land and their music shows that. Zimmer isn’t acquainted with our roots and Rahman has forsaken his … he also has been famously revealed to take credits for works of others. Watch Ram Gopal Verma talk about how Subhash Ghai paid Rahman for Taal crores of rupees only to discover that Sukhwinder Singh was the one creating tracks and charged only 5 lakhs from Rahman. Ghai was mad and blasted Rahman who famously told him that he was paying for the brand and not the music. Apparently his Oscar winning song Jai Ho is also by Singh but he sold the copyrights for cash. So yeah…

Did you read amish's shiva trilogy? It's a cursed project at this point but i have always felt Ranveer was perfect for lord Shiva there. He has that lover boy look, he's fierce, he's soft, he also can play grief so well. Ranveer is multi tasker lol it's sad no one signed him and started immortals of meluha 1 with him. He's getting wasted

Yeah so true he sara didn't look weird too despite showing the age gap. It felt in his own way he had started to love yalina and her feelings didn't feel teenage cringe. Good writing scenes and acting elevated an uncomfortable pairing

Ajay Atul understands Indian music. Imagine something like deva shree ganesha last part for ravan ram war. Goosebumps. Chalo let's see what they do. Expectations for everyone is at ground now lol

Brooo i went to watch kalki first day first show and went straight to office 🤣🤣 i didn't give a shit about prabhas even though I like the guy. Amitabh looked good, Deepika was there,.movie felt interesting. First half was shit. Prabhas character was cringe. And dude looks so bad now. Half drunk eyes and lethargic movement. Then of course entry of Amitabh elevated the movie. And once prabhas character got into the mytho side leaving his cringey jokes it felt mass movie which south movies are good at. They did well with 1 min of Mahabharata scenes even with vfx and de aged amitabh. It's a good concept but to force feedback audience who wants pushpa in kalki they made it like this. If they cut down unnecessary shit in first part the movie would be better

And still now they didn't release part 2 like wtf they don't want to take opportunity of goodwill at all

And prabhas too would rather do thakela souless movies like saho and that nonsense sasta kgf movie than any other movie with substance

Yet to read the trilogy by Tripathi. The synopsis didn’t quite excite me tbh.

Ranveer doesn’t have a legacy surname which is why the industry was willing to write him off until Dhurandhar and then refused to celebrate him despite his duology becoming the first time that any Hindi movie crossed over a 1000 crores in a single language with the first one and then the two combined earn more than 3000 crores making the two the most successful franchise ever in the history of Indian cinema across the industries. His contemporaries would rather begrudgingly credit Dhar than him for the success despite the fact that he essayed a role that not many mainstream A list actors would have been willing to play especially in the first part. Here all the major characters were given the hero treatment regardless of the shade of their character and in the second part we saw him getting captured and beat up by random extras posing as the ISI officers and he’s rescued essentially unlike the others who blast or punch their way out of enemy territory regardless of the stakes involved and being within enemy territory. In fact, even serendipity helped him as did his willingness to take suggestions made even jokingly during the course of the shoot. Do you know that the doctor who stepped out of that plane in the end who helps Jaskirat board the flight was in fact an actual doctor? They were shooting this sequence in Punjab especially because they needed that whole chase through the Muridke part through narrow lanes. Ranveer accidentally hit Rampal and a doctor was called in from a nearby hospital on an emergency basis to check on him and do the necessary. Rampal jokingly told Dhar and Ranveer that they should use the opportunity to include the man in the shoot for the scene later that day where Ranveer’s character is supposed to fly off back to India discreetly considering that Rampal knew that Ranveer will be shown as being captured post killing him. Ranveer and Dhar actually liked the suggestion and felt it was organic as well given the fact that Hamza was wounded severely thanks to the knife amongst the other injuries sustained during the course of the prolonged fight sequence followed by the torture and they asked the doctor who was game for a cameo. The doctor wouldn’t even be in the frame had either Ranveer or Dhar refused to take that suggestion made as a joke. But the fact that both acknowledged it made sense and only went onto show our armed and intelligence forces in a better light as well as didn’t hurt. No one could claim that he was treated and absolutely cured of everything in the ride itself but the whole situation showed how our forces were treating their own with respect and concern as well because preliminary first aid could certainly be done on that flight. An actor who wanted to look macho would’ve declined to go through with the sequence as if it made him look lesser and weaker. There’s some interview by RGV wherein he alluded to a very prolonged climax sequence in a movie with a fight where he said that the hero didn’t look like he was affected at all by all the hits he was taking and when he asked the director or someone involved in the crew he said that the man told him the manager of the actor was adamant that he looked like that because else his fans would be upset and disappointed. He didn’t name anyone but I don’t think he was lying either because we have seen stuff like this where we question logic and common sense.

Ranveer and Sara’s chemistry IMO worked because they didn’t make her do any gross intimate scenes unnecessarily nor was she made to wear any revealing clothes all the time. The clothes thing suited the sensibilities too of the script given that she is the daughter of a politician and has to dress well and decent but we saw her being a rebel despite that and yet she wasn’t given any cheap dress. Their relationship also worked because they made sure that the chemistry was created based on how they looked at each other, Gehra Hua is a fabulous example of establishing that. You see them steal glances of each other and nowhere does it look strange or icky. In the second movie in their final scene your heart is in fact crushed at the realisation that they had to part ways. For 2 movies we felt he had honey trapped her and she was a victim but in the end when he tells her his name Dhar tells us he fell in love with her truly too despite never making him say those words out loud. It’s in the way that the scene is acted and directed - Ranveer’s acting in that scene isn’t as appreciated as it deserves to be because you can see all these emotions cross his face and yet a restraint because Jaskirat is a controlled man. The way he closes his eyes when she says his real name tells you how much that meant to him and you knew he was in love too, it may have started as an act but it was no longer one even from his end. That’s why him burning the picture of his wife and son in the end in a parallel to him burning the picture of himself with his parents and sisters hits just as much and we are shaken by the depth of his losses in both the scenes. The second one more than the first because we have actually spent more time with him and Yalina. We feel for the child who lost his father forever.

Ajay Atul would’ve killed it especially for sequences that require us to feel the emotion like when say Prabhu Ram and Hanuman meet for the first time ever or when the Vanvaas conversation is played out. But alas..

I haven’t yet watched Baahubali tbh, I know it seems grand and all but somehow the OTT action sequences just aren’t my cup of tea. So you can imagine how much enthusiasm I had for Kalki. I was introduced to Prabhas courtesy of Baahubali and honestly I don’t know what to say here because I found him mediocre even there. It’s just that he’s got a good height and built but whatever he had is now being wasted. His hair is going which I can’t blame him for but he looks bloated and like he’s sleepwalking all the time. I saw like 15 minutes of Kalki and gave up because it felt like the movie was dragging and I wasn’t enjoying whatever was on the screen. The whole premise about Kalki Bhagwan being somewhat of a test tube baby also put me off. We know his mother will be called Sumati and his father will be called Vishnuyashas. So I was not even sure why they needed this whole thing where Deepika was seen as some captive who’s experimented on and what purpose does it serve? Not to mention that I didn’t understand the forced attempt at glorification of Karna or whatever. Karna was no hero even if he was wronged. I think in the next part they’ll go with the same old he was suppressed by the society because of his Varna nonsense when in reality Karna had a good life and he was not treated like some untouchable or anything. He studied at Guru Drona’s ashram who simply refused to give him the knowledge of Brahmastra and it was his right to do so as a teacher who felt that Karna was not a suitable candidate to teach something so dangerous. Ironically we see his own son displaying how if an individual is taught something when they don’t deserve it or they aren’t capable of it how it turns out given that Ashwathama could fire the Brahmastra but couldn’t call it back.

The issue isn’t if or not Prabhas will take only the same kind of roles but that there are not a lot of people who can write good scripts and stories. Even if they can, the directors and the audience are stuck in a loop of showing OTT stupidity in the name of action sequences. The audience is to be blamed for this as well because if they had rejected nonsense then it wouldn’t be made but when the likes of Pushpa go biting people around with their hands tied behind their backs and it’s considered awesome the bar is in hell already.

The audience should also appreciate good action for the same to be done in the future. Like take an example of Kill, such a great action movie. The fact that the production house that made John Wick bought rights to remake it tells you a lot. The action in Dhurandhar was also realistic and we didn’t see any nonsense just to hype RS up either. Unless we appreciate and demand good stuff, it won’t be made.

the writing has some issues bt his interpretation was quite interesting. atlst by desi standards who now massacre the epics and bullsht romance genre

Ranveer doesn’t have a legacy surname which is why the industry was willing to write him off until Dhurandhar and then refused to celebrate him despite his duology becoming the first time that any Hindi movie crossed over a 1000 crores in a single language with the first one and then the two combined earn more than 3000 crores making the two the most successful franchise ever in the history of Indian cinema across the industries.

also a lot of crticism was on how he acts hyper off screen. it was so dumb. he can be nude for all people care and it shouldnt impact movies at all, bt our online junta is such Cs. they need to get into everything and give their judgement

dhurandhar success is a tight slap to them as well. its funny to see them hyping ranveer, talk abt doglapanti

ranveer was best part of rocky rani. i watched that movie and i was like i want my rocky nowsmiley36smiley42 he was so dreamy.

intresting tidbit about the doctor.

you know common sense isnt common. biggest issue with bollywood is a section of producers+actors dont give a shit what audience want to watch

if you follow this youtuber reviewer shan parasher. he makes such valid points that in hollywood in low scale they have obsession kinda movie, and here we have haunted 3d. that there is a haunted 3d i got to know today. its so shit. when raaz 1920 these movies came atlst it was a mix of good music, good looking actors, actual jumpscare. now we have stree which went from small town comedy to whatver it is today

everyone wants to make stupid ass multiverse bt no one looks at marvel's hardword. its been decades of their comicbooks, 3 different spiderman and 2 hulk, 2 franchise of fantastic 4. a decade of setting up characters. they took small actors and made them big. and marvel lost their way after endgame and trying to change it. spiderman brand new day was quite different handling. bw wants quick money, so they make welcome 2 golmaan 7 dhamal 10 kinda stupid ass movies. they faltered in movies bt their shows was so good. jessica jones is so dark bt with a badass female character. there is agents of shield. loki, daredevil. my favorite punisher. there is no effort from bollywood apart from these mythos they are trying.

and you know i dont even blame these people. our audience mocked dhurandhar and then started to mock others to hype it up. for such braindead fair weathered audience dhamaal 10 is the best movie.

definitely fight scenes which are purely shot, lack of wound, lack of good hand to hand fighting is there in bw.

i still have issue with yalina's age. i get why they did, bt i also think if she was 20+ nothing would change. bt sara dont look 20 so they took the decision

and yeah they didnt make it creepy and seemed like sara had good time too. it worked out in the end

Ajay Atul would’ve killed it especially for sequences that require us to feel the emotion like when say Prabhu Ram and Hanuman meet for the first time ever or when the Vanvaas conversation is played out. But alas..

arreee ajay atul did adipurush music no? that jay shree ram raja ram was so popular.

Ironically we see his own son displaying how if an individual is taught something when they don’t deserve it or they aren’t capable of it how it turns out given that Ashwathama could fire the Brahmastra but couldn’t call it back.

this karna glorification in across tv shows and movies boil my blood. suryaputra karna is one show i cant even hate watch. and that show had good actors you know. bt fck that show. fck that

they had interesting sci fi future+mahabharat mix of kalki. now that deepika isnt returning they will probably tell audience shes dead in childbirth, prabhas character coming out of brainwash of kamal hasan, amitabh prabhas team up to rescue the kid. with grand set pieces

atlst to give credit telegu tamil movies tries something different in grand scale which is bw scared too. malayalam does small scale movies well

prabhas looked so good in mirchi and rebel. mirchi's interval scene was so good. rebel worked due to his swag lol. bahubali 2>> 1. 1 had such weird scenes with prabhas tamannah. movie 2 they didnt do those nonsense and ofcrs we had anushka.

kalki works only in post interval and last 30 mins.

Unless we appreciate and demand good stuff, it won’t be made.

kill was so good. raghav was amazing. the action in train was good. a lot of foreign reviewers appreciated it and it didnt look they are pandering to desi audience like they usually do. its a good movie, we need more. even if in thriller.

prabhas is comfortable in his dead eyes and no stamina. and his pr is like oh hes so humble.. well hes humble and i stil had to pay money for imax, whats the connection with his humbleness and movie? so stupid. hes also stuck in his own loop
