They don't need to foul play.. That is the strange or sad part of it.. Argentina was counting on penalty shots..

Luckily for us, that didn't happen..

Playing for penalties is actually a good strategy when you can't break a defense, but they took a pretty nasty route to get there.

I feel like going to penalties is a good strategy when you think you can beat the other team gk. They obviously hadn't done their research on Unai Simon to think they could take him on in penalties.
