Thats okay, there have been successful movies in india that have not done well in Japan, another example is Animal, it flopped in Japan

Dhurandhar has alot of references to indian/pakistani politics, laws and intelligence agencies, not sure if the Japanese audience would understand that or be able to connect with it. The movies that have done the best in japan are RRR, bahubali, 3 idiots and english vinglish, these are lighter movies than dhurandhar with less violence, and they seem to be what the Japanese audience like to watch

Some have, the top grossing have been RRR, bahubali, 3 idiots and English vinglish, these are all lighter movies than dhurandhar and Animal with less violence, so i guess certain genres appeal more to the Japanese audience

they would not understand a lot of references like demonetization, the politics, the jokes which made people go crazy. if they watched with only subtitles then very less chance. I thought it was dubbed in Japanese.
