He is like Karan was in S1 before he was exposed to his mother's sins and crimes..

He was planning against Tulsi and Nandani because he thinks they wronged his father

But after revealing his true identity, Karan didn't pretend that he is some well wisher of Viranis. He openly said that he will take revenge for the injustice done with his mother. Here Rio was pretending that he considers Viranis as his family and is one of them while planning behind their backs to destroy them. Parth changed the direction of his plan but his motive was also to harm the Viranis in some way.

Also Karan was showed proof of Mandira's lies but here Tulsi didn't care to show Rio the proof of Ansh's criminal activities when Rio was holding Nandini responsible for Ansh's death.

That's because Karan had already entered the innermost circle of Viranis earlier using Sahil's friendship before thing getting revealed. Before that he was always showing to be someone very good.

Rio didn't have that advantage. Karan had told about his truth to everyone before he got to know about it himself. So the only option for him to enter inner circle was via family ties.. He wanted to and was trying to destroy Viranis but didn't do anything that evil.

I think he still believed that MR wasn't something wrong that's why even after seeing the video of Parth, he didn't take him to be that evil and took Vaishnavi there. This IMO was the actual and most evil thing that he did

Parth and Rio weren't friends, they were just partnering for a common cause. Just that Rio got fond of him probably because he was Karan's son and Rio really loved Karan. His feelings for Karan wasn't contaminated. It's not that Rio got brainwashed by Parth. He himself was into the stuff until he realised Parth' plan was something else.

Coming to Karan, he did have a friend Kabir who came to India from Australia just for helping him. A lot that Karan achieved was due to him and he did everything out of pure friendship without any expectations. Unfortunate for the character, Karan never acknowledged him, even while naming his best friends it was Sahil and Ganga who actually isolated him when they got to know his history..

But coming to the point, Karan too had associated with Payal and Arti who were evil people, just like Rio did with Parth. But I think Arti and Payal weren't as evil as Parth and also Karan was way smarter and calculative than Rio so he didn't let anyone make him their scapegoat.

The second point actually makes sense. Karan had been practically an orphan throughout his life with father doing nothing except sending money and mother a mental patient who needed nurturing rather than she nurturing the child.. Plus the stigma of being an illegitimate child which he was repeatedly shoved into . That would have made him over cautious about everything surrounding him and also very alert. On the contrary Rio had a secured childhood. Despite being mentally unstable, Niyati didn't let him ashtray expecting him to care for him, nor was he missing a father in his life, since Karan cared for him as his own, their bond actually seemed deeper to me than Karan Parth.

Yes yes remember kabir he is truly a good friend of karan but later he disappeared and they forget him but he is truly friend in need or partner in crime and never betrayed karan and used him like parth did with rio and ya when sahil knows his identy both sahil ganga against him but fhir bhi their friendship is pure from both side esp from karan's side jo bhi ho karan gets good friends or partner in his journey when be grey shaded or on mission to defeat virani's but this rio is unlucky say like that not get good friends or partner ok parth is only his partner not a friend or he has soft corner for parth but he gets bad company in his journey that why he died rio think he is smarter to not show his true colour but yahi uski galti thi everyone knows it easily frame him and later no one belive him atleast karan is pure in his journey he told every one his real motive so any thing hidden by his side aamne samne ka mukabla tha or also karan 's prob with mihir only ge respect tulsi alot becoz he understand their no any fault of tulsi unlike rio who hates tulsi as well as nandani too
