Lets discuss which one is your fav imtiaz ali movie as a director. Lets stick to picking 1 as your top fav..i know it is tough since he has a vast variety of good work

Indeed it is tough... however I find that the most mature he made as a writer/director had been the psychological road movie Jab Harry met Sejal (almost like a theatre play)... it was the one digging the deepest into insecurities and lost life dreams focussing on two flawed characters. It's also the only one where he uses a 'MacGuffin" (= a plot device that motivates the characters but is ultimately irrelevant).

Also the music is absolutely great... in music and lyrics.

Today he criticised women saying they are comfortable wearing pardah/burqah. Hopefully scums will issue fatwas against him.

Among his movies yes laila majnu is my favorite. its a masterpiece. I liked jab harry met sejal. I liked ranbir and music and the concept of rockstar not the movie as a whole. I liked shammi kapoors cameo in Rockstar, great one.

He made one film where story, actors, characters everything was on point. No cringe, no manchild drama, no stupid climax & that's JWM.

Haven't watched his latest one yet.
