Samridhi Shukla is a good actress however the show has done her and her character dirty many times. They made her the child of FL with the most annoying and irritating character in history of ITV ie Kacha Aadmi played by an actor who has 0 chemistry with FL and doesn’t know how to act. Then they gave her the ship name of FL and ML as her first name. Then they make her middle class so that her already conservative and toxic in laws get some more ammunition against her. Then her styling and make up is done poorly for most of the show. Even her hairstyles seem to be bland. Instead of more western and indowestern outfits like Naira and Akshu, girl is stuck with most gharelu outfits for most of her tenure. Even other characters got more classy and elegant traditional outfits and sarees. Middle class leads of other shows are really styled beautifully like Sai Pragya Preeta Mouni and even Gopi and Rashi. Also middle class leads after marriage really get some classy and stylish outfits after marriage for at least a party or two. Only now she got some good sarees when she is a mom if two teenage girls. Even Mimi and Swarna were styled better than her. Then they give her worst dialogues as an adult girl. People can be cringe when they are young but not 24/7 and not to that degree. I don’t understand till now how the hell did 4 guys fell obsessively in love with such a bratty overgrown child. She still behaves like a kid at age of 42. Also then her storyline is the worst. She was supposed to be next Sai Joshi but she became Sasti Patralekha knockoff. Suddenly she fell in love with a guy who didn’t have any qualities in him to fall in love for and then she, a career oriented girl, became more obsessed with becoming a mother. Then her husband cancels her lawyer licence on unfair basis when she rightfully got his step mom arrested for nearly killing Abhir. Then she found out about more shady stuff about his stepmom and dadi about them hiding his real mom in a basement and keeping her in a drugged state and committing bigamy. All arrest worthy stuff. She exposes them but neither she nor her husband get them arrested. They are already emotionally abusive towards their children and their spouses yet she and her husband forgive them and then they again plan a kid only for him to kidnap the kid for 8 years. She falls into depression like her mom’s first husband. Instead of listening to her sister and grandpa and move to Japan in order to raise Daksh with her sister, she chooses to struggle for money with her toxic in laws and also forgive her loser of the ex husband after she reunites with her daughter, only to be kicked out by him and his stepmom again and give up her lawyer career to be a mechanic. Also in spite of all things that happened to her, she seems more attatched go her husband than her own daughters who suffered due to him and his family. Sai Joshi at least had a decent career as a doctor while this girl ruined her career with her own hands. Instead of taking right inspiration from Ghum 1 and make Armaan fall first, they made Abhira fall first like in Ghum 2. Then they also ruin her career. Then they make her forgive undeserving people time and again and treat them nicely. Upmaa at least treated V, P and T rather badly in return even if she is obsessed with them.
Storyline for Ruhi’s character was way better. Plus Garvita was better styled and her character wasn’t given as many cheesy lines and her character was way more powerful. She had more connect with Gen 3 characters than Abhira had. In emotional scenes u could really feel for her. It feels like she was the true lead of this generation. She was even better in acting than Sam is as her character was a hateable vamp once but then she grew into a lonely woman who just wanted her family and loved ones and had her childhood and adulthood plagued by multiple losses and then finally into a loyal and fierce sister. Her so called crush on Armaan after Rohit dying was just a rebound crush die to her depression. In front if her Abhira feels like heroine ki behen type character like Muskan, second Kirti, Varsha and last Gayu actress. Plus out of all Gen 4 actors Garvita got the most love, even more than leads, and it was well deserved.
Then there is ML who feels worse than a negative make character. First ML was consistently in love with first PL and then second ML was a toxic chauvinistic misogynist character who was as good as a glorified wife beater. The dude was still glorified. Usually Bahu get the track of leaving the family to raise the kid and it feels somewhat justified with Bahu as the victim but here Armaan did it but he became more villainous and as a bachcha chor. Then he actively cancels his wife’s licence and sides with his criminal mom too, making Ahem Ji and Kokila Modi look angelic as they actually made Gopi successful and educated in spite of bring toxic. He separated her from her own daughter not once but twice and he and his mum mocked her infertility even though previous MLs and their moms were supportive in this hard time.
Then coffin in the nail is that for once ML’s loved ones are active criminals: Dadisa and VV. They are kidnappers who drugged a woman for years and caused her amnesia, abandoned a child at an orphanage, lied to a woman’s husband that she died, made him marry another woman when his wife was alive and never divorced him legally, then manipulated him to have a child with another woman when he was married. Then u would feel that justice would be done of some form by turning them in but the victim Shivani dies and Madhav Sa gets stuck in an unhappy marriage with the PIG-YA PUTANA for rest of his life. The villains get forgiven time and again. One is whitewashed and the other gets a free pass to commit even more crimes. It’s likely that these two would stick even by Gen 5 while they make new leads suffer. VV herself is the worst character in history of ITV. She is most abusive sauté ki Maa and is like evil and demon in a human form. I never hated a character as much as I hated her. She is most inhumane and remorseless character. She is also thankless and shameless. A woman worked tooth and nail to give her back her lost eyesight and she works tooth and nail in return to actively ruin her life. She has ruined so many lives before: Shivani, Madhav, Armaan, Abhira, Maira, Mukti and even Abhir because he was never the same after his accident. Rohit and Ruhi were already planning to shift to Japan when he was alive and it’s most likely due to her. This VV makes Komolika look like an angelic heroine. She makes u hate Umbridge less. What is worse is that this is a family of lawyers yet they are regressive and active criminals. It was already bad that Birlas cruelly treated and kicked out a woman who just had a miscarriage when they were a family of doctors but these lawyers are straight up criminals.
I Hope this show ends as it’s getting worse than Bhagyas by now.
