I think they mostly write characters for actors like Rani is a much bigger brand so people would root for her over new actors

If she brings aalo ka parathay to your office in london which you can smell from far away..you know this girl is weird..

such a chaloo she was

buhat savatri ban ban ke rohit ko full apni taraf kar lia london ke trip pe..and when she started humming that song in church..which gave the truth away..yeah we believe it was a mistake..such a challoo..

Her jealousy and insecurity towards terrific tina could not be so obvious..good for her..she got an equally lame guy for herself..hope tina found someone much better..she didn't deserve these losers anyway

THIS! THIS!

It doesn't matter if they are very good friends but the fact at that point, both Raj-Tina were courting each other, their parents already talked/fixed their marriage & Raj was happy about it ; her visiting London & acting all mushy with her sister like friend's (who trusts her with her own life) boyfriend was pretty manipulative. She is the type of character who acts all damsel in distress but in reality, creates stress for others.

I can understand that a child felt bad for someone and replied, we all have replied for our brothers and friends but we dont lie that life for decades

And after creating a mess, she involved Tina in it then she blamed Raj for not recognizing her and said "Tina is so beautiful" and projected all the anger towards her and became a victim in his life

After that suar Raj was passive aggressive chomu towards Tina, poor girl had lost everything in her life and this man was continuously goading her while cheating on her with Pooja

I don't understand so many things here, it just felt like they piled on someone who didn't have an anchor in her life and they knew she wouldn't move because that'd mean she'd lose whatever links she had

It shows that Pooja was so insecure and jealous of tina, she wanted to be tina, raj asked tina to write the letters but instead pooja wrote them pretending to be tina.

I hated the way raj was treating tina in the second half of the film, he was using her to make pooja jealous, and then that kuch kuch hota hain moment in front of everyone, what the heck was he doing? He became such a horrible and selfish person

Raj and pooja would not last as a couple and tina deserved way better

Similarly Saajan too didn't make sense at all...For the whole movie Madhuri was in love with Salman...She goes around singing songs and dating him and falls more and more in love with his character and what not...But all of a sudden in the end she comes to know that it was Sanjay who wrote those poems and shifts her love to him....smiley22

And then pooja wanted tina to lie to raj and say that she wrote the letters and eventually tina fell in love with raj. Pooja was a highly insecure and stupid person and used others to try to cover her stupidities.

Raj was also such a stupid and shallow character, he was completely into tina for her looks, he literally walks past pooja in their first meeting and goes to tina. And i never understood how he completely shifts his feelings from tina to pooja by finding out pooja wrote the letters, he wasn't attracted to her in any way before that, its such a silly film.

I don't know how they ended the movie with tina forgiving them, If i was tina i would never forgive either of them, they were literally on cheating her

Saajan with a similar storyline, was a blockbuster though....

I thought I was the only one who found it weird that Pooja went to hang around with Raj without Tina in the picture, when he was her best friend's lover and mangetar....Even if she didn't have a history with him, how is it ok to do so? Only in the movies they show such senseless unethical things in the name of 'friendship'...

Saajan's ending was another stupid one. Apparently Madhuri should have broken her friendship with Sanjay and relationship with Salman but yeah it's a 90s movie after all and the heroine has to end up with one of the guys after giving long lecture on how both played with her feelings and emotions. 😂 Even as a kid it didn't make sense to me how Madhuri ended up with Sanjay after dancing to romantic songs with Salman 🤣. That was probably the first nibba-nibbi movie even before the words were invented.

I am happy they didn't make money over it

I have read many books on similar themes where FL shares letters with ML under name of their sister or friends

Pooja and Raj claim to know each other because of letters and Raj was surprised that she deceived him? And Pooja thought the man would reject her once he knows about the truth

Doesn't it mean that those letters weren't a substitute of their real personalities? They clearly didn't know each other, in fact, Pooja thought Raj was a pathetic human being then what did she love?

That's why I said even in 00s the movie didn't make any sense to the moviegoers then that's why it flopped. 😅

It's quite refreshing to read the discussion of a movie smiley27

The Cyrano de Bergerac trope has many variations... the American movie with Uma Thurman wasn't about writing but about conversations in a radio show...and yes, Mujhse Dosti Karoge had the same trope but it wasn't a copy (imo).
