And what is stopping farhan from going to court if it is written directly in the contract that ranveer has to pay damages if he left the film? Oh yes, its because it is not in the contract! Farhan is asking for something that ranveer did not contractually agree on, so why should ranveer give him that amount? Farhan is not contractually enititled to it. Completely agree with you , if he had an actual case he would have taken it to court . The fact that ranveer is keeping calm means for sure Farhan has no legal standing . If there was an actual case against ranveer he would have paid instead of dragging it out !

There's also something known as "Good faith". You can't collaborate with someone for years, get a Hit and then just decide the film is too small for you with no regards for the producers investments.

This is like ordering thousands of wedding cards, wedding cake and food for a wedding and cancelling a day before because the bride pulled out. You still have to pay for all that stuff.

Someone has to pay for Farhan's losses.

have you seen the contract? if the contract states that ranveer has to pay damages when leaving the film, then there is no argument here, he would have to by law pay the amount. But not once has FWICE or any report from farhan stated that this is stated in the contract. Which means that it wasn't in the contract, and if its not in the contract, then ranveer has the right to leave and just return his signing amount. In this case farhan went to FWICE and got them to ban ranveer, this is arm twisting and blackmail, that if ranveer does not pay 45 crores then he won't get work, this is wrong!

And why only talk about good faith in this instance? Throughout the years many actors have left projects after they have signed them and many producers/directors have dropped actors, it is very common in the industry, and in all those instances the director/producer and actor have settled things privatley, but here farhan is asking for 45 crores which is an absolutely absurd amount, and because he is not getting it, he is making this into a huge public drama

when salman left inshallah, did we hear about how much slb demanded in damages? Did we know how much salman paid slb? When kartik left dostana 2 midway, did we hear about any issues with paying damages between kjo and kartik? No we did not, as everything was settled amicably and i'm sure a reasonable deal was met, demanding 45 crores is not reasonable at all

Farhan is def doing behind the scenes bullying but Ranveer is losing so much good will due to this. this was his time to enjoy success, babies and what not but turning into a complete nightmare. He should figure out a way to reaolve this sooner than later.

Apparently they did a recce and costumes, and somehow that has resulted in 45 crores lol
