I think given the open ended final scene it’s a possibility that they may revive the series in the future if Dhar is inspired enough and thinks the story is good enough to be a worthy successor of the original. There’s I believe certainly a seed in his mind that’s not germinated quite yet which is why we saw the mention of Vancouver, the Khalistanis are shown though not named explicitly. There’s mention of the situation in Punjab. Everyone knows at this point that the Vancouver connection with Khalistanis is no secret. The timeline is also very on point as far as the climax is concerned. Demonitisation happened in November 2016, Khanani died almost a month later in December. Hamza stays in Pakistan after that for at least a couple of months if not longer since the precise timing of Jaskirat’s return is not clear.

Atiq Ahmed inspired character is shown and the real guy was assassinated in 2023 but the UP elections that are mentioned are quite clearly the ones held in 2017 wherein Yogiji was appointed CM for the first time. We know the elections are upcoming but whether or not they’re held by the time Jaskirat is extracted from Pakistan is not yet known. The Pulwama attack is not included, Dhar knows it’s an important event and wouldn’t have excluded it if the movie had reached 2019 in terms of timeline since the attack itself happened on February 14th.

So my guess is that the movie ends sometime in 2017/8 and if the next movie happens it picks up the events of the 2nd term of Modiji while overlapping the first tenure of Yogiji as CM. The fact that the pandemic is a big factor here has to be also addressed because Dhar can’t skip it if he wants to stay true to reality and something that the globe has experienced cannot be omitted obviously. Given that so much has happened in the 2nd term it’s not an easy task certainly to compile everything but the narrative should flow smoothly while it flawlessly and effortlessly balances the domestic and international affairs.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the movie is in very nascent stages in his head but he’s not yet ready to commit to it as he’s exhausted perhaps and rightly so, so man deserves a break. One sure thing though is that whenever he decides to go for the third one which could extend to a fourth as well, he’ll not face as many hurdles as far as budget allocation is concerned smiley36 Jio and T-Series would gladly increase what he asks them as they’re gonna wanna jump on the opportunity to milk the cash cow again.

Personally I think the break is also a good call as any sequel to this series is gonna be big by expectations alone and Dhar has to mount it on an even bigger scale than he did these two. Getting the right cast and including characters and bangers that live up to the existing two will also be a lot. So if he wants some distance and does something else before he announces the return of Dhurandhar it’s a good decision.

One sure thing is that whenever he announces it, Bollywood will go in a shock mode all over again and the meltdowns will be epically hilarious, not to mention people would definitely hope he announces his release date much sooner so they know not to get in the way even as a stray at the time smiley36

Well said ..

Arre they made a movie humRi lyari🤣 which is a flop BTW, no takers , while dhurandhar crashed Netflix 🤣

Reg dhurandhar , I dun think theres anything to show about khalistan & the org..its the depressing drug problem prevalent in punjab which needs more attention than these movements .. ..

there was pulwama there was uri there was ayodhya ruling & article 370 ,he is done with 370 & uri. 370 was really well made imo..

But I didn't like uri that much..so a movie on op sindoor wont be on the same lines as dhurandhar coz op sindoor was more of a military op than a spy op ..

i think its best he explores other subjects like chanakya is a good idea..chandragupta maurya movie ..

Dhurandhar is one of its kind..i doubt even Dhar could repeat that magic ..he should try making a movie which is rooted in our culture ..

That movie sold the highest number of tickets ever though - 22! Even Arjun Kapoor is jealous!

I think there’s actually a lot to show for the Khalistan movement. There’s a very conscious effort to drag Punjab down, at least the Indian one… Sikhi as a panth was created to protect our people and we all know how missionaries are rampantly going around converting people. There has been a very conscious effort to put down Sikhs as a community by showing them as clowns and complete morons while that’s certainly not the case. The fertile lands have been ruined intentionally by using harmful chemicals, pesticides and fertilisers. The situation is so bad that there’s a train that the locals dub as the cancer train that runs weekly and the people travel from Punjab to Gujarat and Rajasthan for treatments of various cancers.

The drug abuse is not hidden and neither is the fact that Punjab is one of the most debt ridden states of the country. Just like West Bengal, once a part of unified Bengal state was one of the most prosperous states of the country and produced some of the brightest and greatest minds of the country, Punjab was also affluent, industrious and productive. One of our greatest warrior communities are the Sikhs, they had probably the most fertile land in the country as well not to mention that Punjab cultivated great artists who didn’t have to use booze, women and drugs to make incredible music. Daler Mehendi, Gurdas Mann, Sukhbir didn’t need to be crass and vulgar, nor promote such harmful practices to be popular and loved. Of course, Punjab also had talent beyond music too.

The state however has lost a lot in terms of industrialisation and the Khalistanis terror combined with the way Congress dealt with the Sikhs has left a mark on the people. There’s a reason why they’re fleeing Punjab akin to Bengalis who fled Bengal. The people there see no development and no hope for the future. The decline wasn’t incidental but very well planned out. The plan was to hurt Punjab to affect India. Punjab, Kerala, Kashmir, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu have all been systematically targeted in different ways to weaken the country and eventually perhaps do with what remains of us what happened to the USSR. Russia is still a threat despite the USSR disintegrating which is why the attempt to bring it down never stopped even post Cold War. We are in a similar situation. There’s no such thing as a coincidence in geopolitics. We were partitioned into 3 parts as a country when the British left, though they named 2 parts as one and called them East and West Pakistan. Nepal, the sole Hindu country that’s our neighbour lost their monarchy and became secular. Tibet was annexed, Indira Gandhi gave away the Katchatheevu island to Sri Lanka, her father famously said that he didn’t care about the land Chinese grabbed from us considering it useless and barren. The Indus water treaty was stupidly drafted.

When so much is present as evidence, the idea that there’s no such thing as a conspiracy against the country doesn’t hold water anymore when you’re willing to accept facts.

Dhar can honestly keep making movies on any and all these things and he’ll never run out of material until he’s 90.

There are politics which destroy and politics which unify and/or build up... unfortunately the former often is much quicker done than the latter...

IMO, both take time if measures are intended to be long term if not permanent. Neither is accomplished quickly. The duration differs for either team from region to region based on a large number of factors that are independently based on the region in question.

You may hint at a specific country...my thought is more a global one smiley1

And I also think that nothing is permanent...

Oh I’m not hinting at one specific country because it’s not like there’s only one instance or example.

As for permanence, I agree, we as a nation have been around for thousands of years, but the state of our borders is not permanent. We have shrunk now but once we were huge. We may expand again, possibly in our lifetimes.

What kind of "expansion" should that be??? To me, it should happen in people's minds and not in any geographical meaning...

To me, it is okay to give spiritual thinking a name like Sanatana Dharma... however, basically, it's the wisdom behind that counts (imo) - also in modern times (actually at all times since humans started an own culture)

I'm not alluding to nations, bounderies and politics... you know very well that Bharat was something vaster and not really exclusive like some want it to make in modern times. Cultures wander with those people who wander, they intermingle, blend in.

Knowing the own history is fascinating (and also important) but it isn't the present.

I’m absolutely talking about a physical expansion. Expansions in minds has never been a problem for India. Europeans and people from the world over came searching her, so that has been long accomplished. Given that we are on the rise again as a nation, now we must recapture what was lost and if something new is acquired along the way or something old returns to us, that’s well.. a natural consequence of things. When India was rich and mighty, invaders entered her, weakened her and destroyed her as much as possible, they also divided her. Now she’s gaining might again so history will be reversed and corrected.

Sanatana Dharma is no different from wisdom if people know and understand it. So if our wisdom expands, so will our dharma and vice verse. To us they’re not mutually exclusive but one and the same thing, after all, our epics and Dharma Shastras are mostly about seeking and understanding, about questions and answers. Geeta is nothing more than wisdom and it is god himself answering questions that are asked by a bhakt in a battlefield of all the places. So we don’t even think wisdom has any particular place befitting to impart it, anyplace can be appropriate for enlightenment if one is willing be it a battlefield or under a tree!
