Oh that she does. But can she claim that she’s taken her actor son and Ram Gopal Verma to Taj after the 26/11? Or can she claim that she successfully became the clown who lost a legacy created by a father which people would give anything to have but who ended up losing not just the CM post but the party, the party symbol and name too?

Look at the Northeast summit and the sheer amount of money announced by various corporate head honchos that they will invest in the Northeast. None of them is an idiot. They know that the money is worth the investment only if they have an industrialised, modernised and developed West Bengal, particularly the Bay of Bengal area. Watch how many infrastructure projects pop up in the state and Bengalis get a taste of what it’s like to be an ordinary Mumbaikar who finds something dug up wherever they go in the city

Rule of thumb, big business houses don’t make announcements about investments on a sinking ship. If they make announcements, they can even save a sinking ship.

Adani is into the ports business, wanna bet he knows what a treasure trove he has at his hands via Bengal and if he can get Chittagong too how can that be a game changer for the region and him in particular?

When big businesses want to expand they fund the right people, when big businesses want to destroy, they fund the wrong people.
Given the government we have now both at the centre and in states in the northeast, the kind of vision they have for the country, we know which side of the coin they fall on in this regard. The fact that those who could’ve had deeper pockets are now themselves embroiled in a mess of their own making as we are rising tells you everything.
