Yes, agreed — the measures are rather stringent compared to Maharashtra or Karnataka, but we also saw governments collapse because they were sworn in before establishing a majority. Maybe they want to avoid that? It could also be because everyone has only “promised” allegiance, none of which is in writing.

It’s also definitely possible that the Centre is putting pressure on the Governor to obtain the signatures before the swearing-in ceremony. Maybe the end goal is President's rule if no majority is proven.

Also as much as I understood from the discussion I had with my tamizh friends regarding election mandate, more than in favour of anyone,the election mandate is more against the ruling party DMK....even MK Stalin lost his seat...

So any kind of entry of DMK via backdoor would not look nice..and it would be a cunning disregard of public opinion.....

Seems these 5 years are gonna be like bed of thorns for him with dmk as opposition (which performs best only when in opposition) and with many allies in power constantly threatening his position

It's better for Tamilnadu i guess... strong opposition is always welcome... That's what we missed in centre...

But the ruling party should not be unstable... otherwise it would lead to fearful, unstable governance of other party appeasement....

Whoever becomes CM must get a fair chance to show what his intentions are and what he can deliver

Nowadays I think poll violence only happens in WB, otherwise all the other states do have peaceful power transition.

If Vijay doesn't have mandate then just ADMK. There are no permanent enemies and friends in Politics. Nitish ruled for 20 years like this. He is hailed as one of the best CMs in history of Indian politics.

There is an option of Going with NDA or Just ADMK. Why so much drama?

All this drama because that one BJP MP will come with ADMK? ONE? They are that scared of BJP that whatever they have hidden and concealed from the real world will be out in Open? Aisa kya chupa rakha hai?

Now I understand thier Langauge politics. It's not about protecting language or hating hindi. It's about protecting whatever thier state has hidden so successfully because of Langauge barrier.

Nobody is “scared” of BJP— what are they? Jump scare monsters?

FYI, ADMK requested for a pre-poll alliance with TVK but it did not work out because Vijay wanted to be the CM, but Edapaadi did not agree to the deputy CM.

It was also because whichever party has BJP in its alliance, you can be rest assured that they’ll not be getting the minority community votes.

Even now, AIADMK has the same reason for not offering support, plus there’s one more important reason: if they offer support, it means they are ruining their chance to be an option / opposition, so DMK is the only party left as an alternative. They do not want that to happen. They prefer that to being a subordinate to TVK. So obviously there’s a lot of deliberations going on.

Why should anyone hide anything — it’s a notorious fact anyone joining hands with BJP automatically attains saint status! They are the purest people walking this earth after all. Corruption allegations ? 💨!

Bjp is strictly restricted in tn because people dont like division based on hindu muslims..we already have enough caste based issues here..people wont want religion based issues as well..

Language is very simple to understand..whoever wants to learn will learn in prachar sabha or whereever they want but dont make it compulsory and grade people based on it..north india is studying IT as extra subject where as south is studying hindi as extra subject..

this is what people dislike ..there are plenty of hindi speakers in state and all private schools have hindi but they dont grade them for 10,12th ..that is more than enough for kids here..dont pressure cbse kids to study and get 90 marks in that also to get good total..keep it as optional ..no one will oppose
