RR become first team to hand Punjab a loss

RR vs DC LIVE Score: RR were going through a tricky spell of three losses in four matches with some disappointing performances going into a key match against PBKS. Needing a win to stay afloat and clear of the chasing pack, RR delivered with a scintillating chase – most of the lineup contributed with useful innings even if nobody scored a massive one, with Donovan Ferreira and Shubham Dubey finishing things off in a composed manner to bring them the points. Still need to sharpen some things up, but looking very good.

DC suffered from 3 consecutive losses

RR vs DC LIVE Score: Sunrisers, Punjab, and Bengaluru have beaten Delhi in each of their last three games – three powerful teams, sure, but it was about the manner in which DC have been beaten that will concern fans. Never looking in the game chasing a big total against SRH, before scoring 264 but seeing it chased down relatively easily, and then finally the batting collapsing and being bowled out for 75 when it could have been far fewer against RCB.

State of the table

RR vs DC LIVE Score: As we head into Match 43, the table has a very distinct top 4 – Punjab Kings on 13 points, followed by RCB, RR, and SRH sitting right below on 12. GT caught up a little bit onto 10 points, but are on something of an island in fifth; in sixth and seventh, tied on 6 points, are CSK and DC, with DC's NRR getting slaughtered last time out. KKR are not far behind on 5 points, while MI and LSG's struggles see them bring up the rear on 4 points respectively.

Mitchell Starc is back. He's been an infrequent customer at the IPL, but each time he arrives at the tournament, it's blockbuster cricket - one way or another. He will be donning the Delhi Capitals jersey, and the timing can't be better. DC have been struggling in the mid-phase of this tournament, sitting seventh on the points table and nursing their wounds from being 75 all out against RCB. On the other hand, RR are inching closer to the top of the table with Jaysooriya being backed up by their fiery bowling. Who will come out on top today?

The Delhi Capitals have lost three in a row and it's safe to say they are in must-win territory now. After failing to defend 264 against the Punjab Kings, they were shot out for a measely 75 by the Royal Challengers in the next match. Both happened at home and they might be silently happy to be away from home environs. It doesn't get any easier though as they're up against the Royals in Jaipur. The home team are high in confidence after becoming the first team to beat the Punjab Kings this season and the incentive to win today is obvious. RCB's loss in Ahmedabad means that they can go top of the table in a few hours time. It's been a strange tournament with the top-4 pulling away fast from the chasing pack and as such there could be several teams praying for a Delhi win today. They'll be bouyed by the presence of Mitchell Starc - the Australian pacer has been cleared by the national board and could provide some heft to a misfiring pace attack. Could there be changes in the batting unit? Toss and team sheets coming up shortly..
