I am still trying to figure out the logic behind this hatred for Indians
Irony is that this is anniversary of Pahalgham attack where people were killed because they weren't Muslims in India
If anything memorizing all of that can save your life
The hate depends on where the person is from. Westerners are hating Indians for apparently stealing their jobs, as if we asked them to not study and work hard. It’s quite a toxic combination of racism, xenophobia and low self esteem all clubbed into one. Crazy part is that Indian currency is not even yet gone international to the point that IMF recognises it as being entitled to the status of being a reserve currency in its kitty. That’s gonna cause the hate to amplify beyond proportions and imagination. It’s crazy that they hate India so much but also simultaneously use India to have maximum reach and gain by either making anti India statements or pro India content. Just look at them reacting to Indian stuff which they didn’t do before in hordes like they do now. Stupid people even watch them and recommend them content, still hung up on some stupid western validation from people who don’t even understand the cultural nuances depicted in our movies. Forget regular folks, even folks with reach and apparently some worldly exposure aren’t above it. Look at the Ramayana producer - he wants western audiences to love our epic and thinks that the movie will be a success only if they love it.
Apparently Christopher Nolan’s opinion is also being sought.. ironically when he’s making a movie on Odysseus, releasing before Ramayana with a similar theme in certain ways and where he’s famously avoided the usage of any CGI, VFX or AI. I understand man is a cinematic genius, but does he even know Ramayana? How does he have an audience before say veterans of our industry who could have given genuine feedback. Even if they aren’t touching grass, they have to know more about Ramayana than Nolan! Be it Rajamouli or Javed Akhtar or any other Indian director and successful writer worth his salt!
There is hate from the conversion lobbies because despite their centuries long work, we remain a civilisation that refuses to back down and bend one way or another completely. There are people who have went one way or the other but we aren’t all lost.
Then there’s hate from Pakistanis and Bangladeshis. They know they can’t deny their roots and they hate their roots today not only because of the obvious but because accepting the truth, history and reality hurts more. It tells them that they come from those who were either oppressed or weak and thus fell prey to one or the other conversion mafias. We who still are as our ancestors were are proof that not all could be oppressed or scared into submission.
