The drama didn't do justice for both the characters. I loved the bear hunting scene especially the reaction of XIe Zheng to it the makers could bring a gyrfalcon and a pig to life via AI/robot they could have done it for a bear too

Tbh the whole military tent scene was well written in the novel. Idk what drugs the writers were on to write such scenes for the drama which didn't even contribute much to the plot.

Wahi writers showed mediocre story and got success from it..In drama they made it as cringe lol..a mere army entrant and her gang took away a war hostage (that second heir of lord changxin)and leveraged with enemy but general dint do anything 🤦‍♀️ ..complete contrast to what changyu and xie zheng in novel would do..changyu in drama was soo sooo dumb..

Also when she went on alone to fight qi min warriors to buy time untill tang peyi came with reinforcements -1 woman vs 16 men grandeur would have been excellent to see..they missed out everything

had they written well ,this story had all potential to go down as one of classics..

For me, the drama version is the best. Zhang Linghe looks incredibly handsome in this drama, no doubt, and both the hero and heroine have delivered outstanding performances.

Of course, the novel is still the best, but the actors have truly brought the characters to life, which is why many people become interested in the novel after watching the drama.

However, I find the novel a bit slow-paced. I often rewatch the Liaan(village )episodes on repeat mode. it feels like Zhang Linghe’s best work so far.

Whether that’s because of the direction or the camera work, I’m not sure.

I do have a few issues with the drama for example, they could have shown the wedding properly in the climax or included something about their children.

There could have been an episode where they visit Liaan(village )with their kids and show a few moments from that. But overall, I would rate it 9 out of 10.

The best part was reading your review I really enjoyed it, and you answered all my questions related to the novel. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart..

Yeah i agree zlh and fl brought people to drama..after reading novel it feels like they could have still done better ..upto episode 17 it was all so good in drama..i found only later episodes to be loosely written..
