Jodha Akbar: Episode 68 - Miscarriage Investigation Arc - Page 3

The fact that Jodha even agreed to give away one of her kids to Ruqaiya because 'she was feeling empathetic' made no sense at all, like why would you do that? While informal adoption was a thing back then, Ruqaiya could still build a relationship with Jodha's kids without doing all that, and Jodha was spineless to even give her child away to an obviously entitled person.

I also hated the way Jalal could blame Hassan's death on Jodha choosing to spend time with him (because it is somehow her fault, eh? 😒) and even stood there while Ruqaiya blamed Jodha and claimed she killed her own children (which wtf?!). All these wouldn't have happened had Ruqaiya allowed Jodha to breastfeed her own children, instead of allowing a wet nurse to feed Hassan. Honestly, Ruqaiya was the catalyst because she did not want Hassan bonding with his own mother (the audacity, btw). Actually, this could have been avoided if she wasn't acting entitled to another woman's kids and if Jodha had stood her ground (because, again, wtf).

Honestly, that track was another part that particularly irritated me in this serial. That, and the Laboni (though it was quite refreshing to see a bold Jodha return in the possession track)

Ruqaiya was audacious for that, but if we remember, Jalal was already giving her reasons to think she could humiliate Jodha. This was during the Benazir track, where Jalal had already humiliated Jodha twice. When people see the emperor treating one of his wives like she is dirt, it is a matter of time before they will use that as a precedent. Good on Jalal for standing up to Ruqaiya for doing that, but his actions created that space for her to do so.

Well, I have never commented here before. I have mostly been lurking here since a year. But seeing this spirited discussion here, had kind of forced me to participate. The show has so much illogical and non sensical tracks. I honestly don't know how and why I happen to absolutely adore this show like I have loved no other.

And yes, Jalal's behavior in the earlier episodes towards Jodha publically was extremely dumb on the CVs part. That is not how an Emperor would have behaved. Seeing the later Jalal who absolutely worshipped Jodha and then going back to earlier episodes honestly gives me such a whiplash. I think with Benazir track... There characterisation was kind of thrown out the window. And it only increased after the love confession. Lots of opportunities for good fanfics though.

Yeah, that moment was embarrassing to watch. Children are not trinkets to be just given away to someone else because they asked. Empathy or not, it is just unacceptable, and it makes no sense for Jodha to do that. The fact that Jalal clocked what Ruqaiya was planning should have said it all for Jodha, but alas. She has acted so painfully naive so far in this serial, and it was painful to watch 😒🤦🏾‍♀️.

Hi Aparajita, nice to see you here! Thanks for your input, and yes, I absolutely agree that Jalal acted in ways so non-typical of an emperor of his calibre.

For one, accusing your wife of a severe crime without concrete proof and sentencing her without due process is so unprofessional. I do not even blame Jodha for not forgiving him thereafter, and the fact that some folks on this site were acting like she was the problem for holding a grudge against him is sending me.

"But he was a grieving father." He was also an emperor and had the responsibility of ensuring due process. It took Hamida and the ulama stepping in before he decided to let due process run.

Then there is the Benazir process, which...

I do not even know where to start with this one because you visit your wife's chamber with the belief that she intends to take your relationship to the next step. The problem is that she says she never said that, but you read from someone (who has a problem with her, btw) that her letter said otherwise. Instead of him bringing in an independent reader to confirm what was actually stated in the letter, he chose to blindly believe Maham Anga because 'she can never lie to him'.

Then, he chooses to publicly humiliate Jodha over something that took place within closed doors by bringing in Benazir. This is the part that particularly annoys me because this has given other people the leeway to also insult Jodha (especially with Ruqaiya trying to move Jodha out of her hojra into another place).

Seeing this and the way Jalal dotes on her in later episodes is a mindscrew when you remember how horribly he treated her in the earlier episodes 😭😭😭
