I clearly stated that everyone has the right to agree or disagree on a public platform without resorting to personal attacks and using abusive language. I didn't say you did it.
I disagree again , replacing a famous actor is much bigger risk than casting a lead in a new show because there is always a chance to build a fresh fandom or new shippers . However with replacemets , you often face a double whammy of negative backlash from both sides of the fanbase .
And it's not about replacing shweta and ankita . The point is why did ekta take the risk of casting an actor while knowing full well that his famdom only loves to see him paired with one specific actress ?
So , i also said that noorjahan was the debut show , but it wasnt a hit . In naam gum jayega makers tried testing gauri with others twice , and in ss the majority of the audience didn't accept gauri with bhanu . Even gungun and parineeta were paired opposite hiten in ganga and gupta brothers both failed to click with him. This truly is destiny that hiten-gauri create wonders with each other.
You’re coming from a place of passion, I am coming from objectivity which says that Hiten has been saddled with the tag of Replacement Specialist. That’s technically not a badge one wants. He couldn’t create a successful pairing with another actress if he tried when he essentially gets no clean slate. The previous actor will have established a fan base with the said actress and as the character wherein regardless of how much effort Hiten puts in he’s not gonna be appreciated enough because of comparison.
You might want to ignore it but it doesn’t change the reality and the facts that are there to see.
My definition of being a fan isn’t limited to wanting to see a good actor or actress pair with the same person repeatedly but hoping to see them engage with others where there might be hits and misses but that’s the part of the point. It allows a good actor/actress to reinvent themselves.
I have liked Hiten, Iqbal, Rajeev, Harshad who all are contemporaries and have more or less started around the same time. Iqbal, Rajeev and Harshad have managed to work with different people and we can see that because they’re genuinely talented those shows have been successful. They have moreover not been seen as replacements. When I say what I do, I come from a place where I wished Hiten had similar success and opportunities. He has lost out a lot by being willing to replace anyone and everyone whenever he’s been called. You see my objectivity as hatred or something else, idk.
Your definition of being a fan is to see them together, mine is to see them do different variety of shows. Even when they’re cast together in shows by different PH now they’re playing parents of the main leads like they did in the Sony show I can’t recall the name of set in Kashmir. They were parallel leads before. When I say what I do, it’s because I had hoped for main lead roles.
This conversation is coming from two very different perspectives wherein I want to see the range and you want there to be limits.
Agreements aren’t possible in such a scenario regardless of what either party says because you’re not open to even trying to understand my opinions aren’t an attack and I’m not willing to follow a certain path just to claim that I am a true fan.
