What he said is the truth and truth is always bitter. We have read known understand Ramayana & Mahabharat all our lives. He might said on the context of the tv show & i am saying on the context of our entire lives. Do we follow what is written in Ramayana & Mahabharat? Do we really apply in our lives? Thats the question! They are definitely not following what Lord Ram & Lord Krishna taught us. The world is definitely not following what is written in Ramayana & Mahabharat or even fear Garud Puran which does inform us the consequences of good deeds & bad deeds and sins cause such a rotten death for us. Noone is listening, understanding or even fearing. So what RK said was right. Does people follow? yet they have the audacity to talk about Ramayana. The X people are intolerable they talk about Ramayana yet so disrespectful towards others. So truth does hurt and truth is bitter

Even i have the same thought while going through some X posts. They talk so much about Ramayana and just look how they behave so disrespectful and insolent towards others. Lord Ram & Maa Sita never taught this in Ramayana

While rewatching Ramayana teaser again for about 3-5 times i came to a conclusion that i will give a chance and watch it as cinematic version and do not bring TV in my head while watching. Ramayana is not about how one looks. Yes valmiki, tulsidas has spoken beautifully about their looks and personality. But this is just a teaser. Ramayana is all about emotions and the cast is stellar with RK Sai Pallavi Yash Sunny Deol Ravi Dubey(TV) and our very own Mahadev as Mohit is Playing Mahadev again & Kajal Agarwal Rakul Preet🙏🏼. They are excellent in their performance owing to their previous work & i am going to focus on the performances. How the cast understand Ramayana, it will be shown in their performance I hope people keep out actors personal lives & interviews from this. Even TV actors portraying those divine characters were not noble they had their personal vices too. The audience accept them due to their performance. Here also its all about performance. If the film connects with Ramayana emotions, the heart & soul of Ramayana, its a success. VFX is secondary. No VFX will be focus if Ramayana essence is shown through performance

This a tiktok video from an indian american who attended the los Angeles preview of the rama teaser, he said he wasn't impressed with what he saw of the teaser. In the comments he responded to someone saying that many he spoke to at the preview were underwhelmed with the vfx.

He also spoke about how he feels the movie is catering to the western audience and fears that ram is going to be shown as one dimensional in the movie.

So for those saying any criticism is just negative PR going on against the film, there were people who were invited to the preview who were also underwhelmed by the vfx and teaser

We all know ramayana ..so why will anyone go watch it in theaters? To see the vfx & ai ? Unless they manage to present the story with the depth it demands , its not gonna work with vfx alone ..thats what adipurush also did n reason it failed..

Every year ramayan is played in the country on dusshera , do people get bored of it ? No . They watch it with as much enthusiasm ..so why is it that adipurush & this ramayan fail to capture people's attention ? Basic bhi dikhayege toh bhi chalega ..over westernized karege toh kabhi nai chalega ..

Is this real? Cannot believe someone who made a 4000 cr movie can make such n irresponsible statement.
Bhai..u won’t be able to recover ur budget if u disregard Indian audience..kitne hi foreigners aayenge dekhne? U r making something essentially Indian and don’t want it to appeal to Indians..on top of it u r declaring this to the world. Utter stupidity. If somehow this statement goes viral Indians will make sure the movie flops

bold: Could that be the hidden purpose of Mr. Namit Malhotra's behaviour??? I still don't believe the budget-number he threw around... it litterally screams "money laundering"... and if t h a t really is the case, no wonder, the dedication to relatable quality would be less important...

No good feeling - until now - from my side... but okay, we will see how things will unfold...

Apparently it is. No one from the team has refuted it or claimed it’s a misquote or anything.

The man also sent invites to the LA media critics by stating this is India’s answer to LoTR yada yada. How can actual history be considered as an answer to an imaginary story beats me, moreover why does it need to be? Especially when the movies are what 2 decades old? The story that inspired them not even a century old.. but Ramayana is literally over 7000 years old.

You have got to really be losing your mental capacity not to mention self respect to make comparisons and statements like these.

This guy is the owner of the VFX company and the producer that will pay the same company for their shoddy production and AI work. He’s created what’s the world’s most expensive demo reel to impress the west. The story is as brown as it gets; dude is also so not tuned into the world right now where Indians are facing racism just for existing and being successful abroad no matter where. He really assumes that the west will come to watch a movie about one of our gods when they still use the derogatory word Pagan for us? Did he not see how a simple Hanuman Murti erected in the premises of a privately owned land in Canada by a Mandir caused them to have a meltdown as if we had invaded their lands and burned their homes to the ground… how did he think they would watch a movie about someone Hanuman worships as his Aradhya is beyond me.

The cherry on top of this disastrous cake is the casting of Ranbir who doesn’t look right plays Ram, Sai who leans left plays Sita and the director who made a movie where a bad marriage was compared to the tragedy that is the Holocaust. I wish I was making the last one up but I’m not. Seriously, look up the Filmography of the dude on his Wikipedia page. Beyond Dangal he barely has any hits and we know that the majority collections of Dangal coming from China are fishy as heck.

He’s brought onboard not for his expertise as a director with the chops to make movies on this scale but as he’s the director of the movie that held the record for the highest earner so far and is the biggest money laundering case of the industry so far. Dude has been brought for his experience perhaps for specifically that.

Then there’s the dialogue writer, ironically named Sriram; whose last movie was Ikkis as a director which rightfully flopped.

I hope the ED is going to be more vigilant this time around as the amount invested in the movie itself is so humongous. This Ponzi scheme is not to be ignored.

Honestly they should not have rely entirely on VFX they should have used real life locations and use VFX when its needed of course without showing it as cartoonish. My issue is also VFX. They should not have touched Ramayana Mahabharat Shiv Puran and all other hindu purans. BW is minting money while TV shows it with conviction and respect it and does vast reasearch and present to the audience I still can't take out Mohit-Sonarika as Lord Shiva & Maa Parvati Sumedh-Mallika as Young Krishna & Radha SRJ as Krishna & Vishnu, Pooja as Draupadi,Shaheer as Arjun, Arun Govil & Gurmeet as Lord Ram Mouni as Sati They truly had the divine blessing and glow. I still remember the clip of elders who came to meet Mohit-Sonarika fall on their feet and both were politely avoiding them saying they are playing the part which the elderly lady told them,i see lord shiva & maa parvati in you,i saw that glow, mohit and sonarika were touched. Thats what divine blessing means, they were choosen by gods themselves to play them. Not everyone is blessed . Where TV excels,BW fails. I am only into performance now. As the cast are good actors. But honestly i am also disappointed, very disappointed. The world knows about Ramayana, Mahabharat even stories on Lord Shiva Vishnu Puran and Garud Puran Ashwatamma Parshuram. It does not need a money minting movie to stain it. Thats why even Adipurush failed. The worst one

The guy who is the producer of the movie also owns the VFX and AI company that’s working on this movie. The over-reliance on VFX is not an incidental decision but one he has intentionally taken to promote his business using Ramayana to the West. Saw a few podcasts and in one of them a journo said that he had met and interviewed this guy a couple of years ago - his family owns the other VFX company called Prime Focus - but this is his solo venture. He wants to promote his company using this movie and rather than networking and relying work to organically come his way he went ahead and decided to get a movie made to do the same. The statement about the movie being considered a failure if the west doesn’t like it makes sense as they are relying more and more on VFX to even create a basic room that can be set up irl in a studio or even a real location if a specific setup/area is needed for the project. This is his company’s showreel masquerading as a movie.

Mukesh Chhabra even said in an interview that he was brought on board after Ranbir was cast as Ram. He said the same thing for Ranveer in Dhurandhar series… but the difference between the directors and the casting decisions regarding the leading men is obvious. The Dhar brothers approached only Ranveer as he was their first choice and he agreed. We can see his casting was made with some forethought not just as a big name as he’s done justice to the role and moreover all the cast giving interviews everywhere said it was rare to find a leading man willing to take a backseat in a movie to let the narrative take over and have all the actors their space to shine. Ranbir doesn’t even have any competition in a way in this movie because the story is centred on Ram Bhagwan and his journey but he doesn’t look the part from day one and the intent of using god to their own benefit in an underhanded manner by the producer is what’s reaping the fruits that the trailer has produced so far. Let’s see what happens in the future because when even common people like us can spot a money laundering operation when we see one, the relevant departments with authorities trained to do this will hopefully be onto these people and do the needful to set an example out of them for posterity.
