Thanks for explaining the whole Dawood Ibrahim and Bollywood connection. This blows my mind. Paison ke chakkar mein desh to kya, insaniyat bhi bech khaate hai log. Unbelievable.

PS. This also explains why people keep calling Bollywood as "Urduwood" on social media. Any inklings I had of Dhurandhar being a propaganda film are gone.

But let me tell you that we have barely scratched the surface of the situation here. Dawood is just one man, there were others before him and after him too.

If you google Bollywood stars with Dawood, you will find pictures of them. Rishi Kapoor famously said that he got a call from Dawood ‘Ji’ for essaying a character called Dawood in some movie. Anil Kapoor is seen standing shoulder to shoulder with him in what I think is a derby match or some horse race. If you know about a movie called Ram Teri Ganga Maili by Raj Kapoor, the heroine went onto become his keep later famously. She goes by the screen name Mandakini but her real name is something else.

If you go to twitter, you can find a handle called Gems of Bollywood. They’ve posted scenes from movies spanning decades where propaganda as well as the Hinduphobia and the way they were made to seem like evil always is clear to see. I am not saying that evil or awful Hindus haven’t existed, that there aren’t criminals in Hindus, but this was just a one sided agenda. Go through their content and you’ll see.

Nevertheless, one should also mention that the underworld money didn't come only from Muslim gangsters... three unfamous gangs also had been Hindi ones the chief being Hindu...and in Dawoods gangs , there also had been/are Hindus...so, it really should not get labeled on Muslim and Hindu but on them being gangsters who wanted influence in the filmindustry.

Urduwood in a negative isn't correct (imo) as also in movies not funded by gangsters, urdu lyricism and music with Islamic roots was a part of the cinematic art. Even in Dhurandhar, there is music with Sufi roots...

Aani do you think " Gems of Bollywood" is credible ?

I mean I don't deny the Aman Shanti BS the Bollywood used to feed, I don't even deny that Gems of Bollywood exposed a lot of propoganda...but sometimes they kind of make unnecessary posts which are irrelevant...thatz what I have felt though

Most of what they post is accurate. There are sometimes things that they post which might be their personal opinions which they’re free to have and express. But you can’t deny that they have done a fantastic job of raising awareness regarding the lopsided treatment and bias against Hindus.

It's called urduwood for a reason and there is lot of nuances because of which it's called urduwood...

Ppl are fed up with the balant lies that Bollywood has been feeding throughout yrs to Indian audience...the historical changes they made, the Aman Shanti BS they spread moreover in a historical movie in name of hindi songs they kind of urdu words...so it's not just a simple and plain thing...there is a lot of things which has been underneath all these name calling

That is what I have mentioned...they have exposed a lot of bias , I am fine even with their personal opinions but sometimes ...I wud say few times there posts are hit n miss...kind of makes no sense

It seems that I'm a very 'blue-eyed' viewer of Hindi Cinema...to me, it always just was Indian...

Money came from everywhere but the majority of the propaganda and the anti Hindu bias is undeniable. Showing Hindus as extremists, villains, as the only community wherein issues exist is undeniable. Can the existence of Pasmanda Muslims be denied? The Shia Sunni conflict? The fact that it took Bollywood nearly 40 years to even make a movie on Shah Bano says something.

The existence of Hindu goons or underworld dons is not being denied. But the glorification of Islam and Muslims while the degradation of only Hindus is also irrefutable.

Kerala Files is called a propaganda movie too but it’s also a reality that the term Love Jihad came from Kerala itself and from a judge of the Kerala court. Christians have also raised the same issues against Muslims which they themselves are also known for doing - conversion by any means necessary.

If something is 50 - 50 but only one party is being called out it makes sense. But for the life of me I don’t recall movies where Muslims were similarly treated as Hindus. We see SRK in K3G waking up annoyed as he hears a bhajan and stuffing his ear with cotton, but show me one movie where a Hindu or a Christian would react similarly to an azaan blaring at the top of someone’s lungs at 5 in the morning or someone who would start being annoyed at the moment a choir starts singing in a church.
