I just wrapped up a K-drama which involved the concept of time-travel where the female lead travels back in time when they speak a different version of the Korean language. Ofcourse all of the accent/word differences were lost on me.

Another time, I was watching an Indian movie and was rolling in laughter because of the style of dialogue delivery whereas for my husband, the joke/conversation didn't land the same way as he didn't understand that language and was just reading subtitles.

JHMS is my favorite movie too. smiley27

@Bold- which K- Drama? can you name it? I am also a K-Drama fan.smiley1

ridiculous statement stating who should retire and who’s a superstar lol !! The khans all superstars not just who you say is!! Secondly they equally have had their phases !! I bring this up because in your post you very try to single which Khan is a superstar!! Again it shows some don’t know what stardom means and it don’t mean just on who as the most hits etc but on many things. Now on to the new gen they can have massive hits etc but they will never have the stardom as the Khans because they don’t have loyal groups as the Khans have esp Salman and SRK. The new gen the movies matter more then the stars. Whereas with the two khans in particular more than their movies it’s their aura/appeal that matters.

We’ve been hearing for over a decade that the “new generation” will take over and yet, here we are. At this point, they’re not even new anymore. The truth is, the era of the traditional superstar is fading. Audiences today don’t show up just because of who’s in a film, they show up if the story feels worth their time and money. Star power alone isn’t enough anymore. If a film doesn’t look appealing, people simply won’t go to the theater. And with the rise of OTT platforms, there’s always the option to wait and watch it at home. That said, icons like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan will remain superstars regardless of box office numbers. They’ve dominated the industry for decades and have built a legacy that goes beyond individual film performances. However, if we’re being honest, Salman Khan especially needs to start making stronger script choices moving forward.

well said and I mentioned the same points. And yes the Kapoor lad, RS, surely not new Gen they been here since 2009/2010 lol and took them so long to get hits which the Khans in their solo debut movies Salman (Maine pyar kiya) and then Aamir got instant massive blockbusters and overnight stardom !! SRK enter the picture later and didn’t receive the instant stardom and took time And Salman still having the highest ATBB with Hum Aapke Hain Koun!! The new gen on other hand, don’t have that aura !! The new gen’s movies matter more then them!! Sairrya such a great debut to ayan Pandey but does he have that loyal group like the Khans? Will he? I bring this up because he is the new gen as he is new and his debut has given him recognition but not like the Khans have in my opinion.

I have been hearing it for decades now but nothing of that sort is happeningsmiley37. One film of tdys time releases for 1000 crs than talk abt the actor director & team for 1-2 weeks, than people are back discussing abt KHANS trio watching their films & listening to their timeless songs😂. The new actors only relevant for 1-2 weeks than the whole year KHANS dominates even in their 60s😂

Dhurandar series storm & RV shipping ease down now people are back discussing KING & MATRUBHOOMI along with Salman-Nayanthara new venture with south directorsmiley37. The conclusion is even now KHANS are dominating

People are dumb too even compare RK RV Vicky and others with KHANS Ajay Akshay. They are not even in competition at all. Their times of competition is over currently they are working with this undying energy working very hard at this age when body takes a backseat its because they don't want to sit home. Work gives them peace & happiness. They are working for their own peace of soul. Not everyone at the age 50+ & 60s has energy. God bless they have that energy to push them to work for their own happiness. I respect KHANS Ajay Akshay for that energy. They are not even competing anyone. They just working for their ownself, own peace.

Furthermore when KHANS and this new gen came in. The ticket prices and everything was different those days were truly megastars era and KHANS continously work with odd weird shifts when in one day they finish one shift they head to another set with another shift with no vanity vans,no rest. Unlike now people are more rich & privilege. I find them dumb to compare RV RK VICKY with KHANS when times are different. Even the KHANS must be laughing😂😂. KHANS are no more in competition they have got their share and became megastars. Now everyone can earn 1000 crores thanks to the hike on ticket price and increase of theatre something was not there in 50s 60s 70s 80s & 90s. KHANS earn their megastardom on their own rights. If there is a competition its between the KHANS only. Their era will never end as theirs is the last of megastars

Where the KHANS excels in the romance and comedy thriller genre, the new gen sucks in that genre. Action not my genre. Thriller films had taken a backseat so does horror genre. Bollywood is getting boring now and in future its going to be doom

Nothing is over. Experts told us that satellite,OTT .Covid killed film business.

Yet after PK did the first 300 crs in 2016,BO remained stagnant for years. In fact post covid 1000cr films became normal.

As for stars, here and in the West, the avenues for earning has no limit. SRK is a billionaire. Stars are making money ,not only directly from ticket sales, they are making money indirectly, through other avenues. Shraddha Kapoor doesn't need to do a day's work. Her Insta account and brand collabs is giving her more money than any producer can.

Why do you think stars like, her,Kriti and others are in no hurry to sign films. Instagram has been a headache for Producers. They can't get heroines, for the pittance they want to pay.

Things keep evolving.Stars are leading their fabulous lives. I don't think ,an Ananya,Janhvi care about people who crowd under influencer handles ,abusing them.

Not sure every star wants thousands of people in front of their gates. They are not the primary source of income or fame. Their insta handles are.

What stardom means

Stardom meaning !!

Salman Khan is a dominant, enduring Bollywood superstar known for

massive box-office hits and unparalleled popularity among masses, often described as an "enduring force" in Indian cinema. Emerging in the late 1980s, his career has spanned over three decades, marked by immense popularity in single-screen theaters. Instagram +4

Key Aspects of Salman Khan's Stardom:

  • The "Mass" King: Unlike actors relying on critical acclaim, Salman's stardom is driven by intense audience love, mass-appeal masala films, and a "family & friends" approach to film projects.
  • Two Career Phases: While he was a massive star in the 1990s following Maine Pyar Kiya(1989), his stardom saw a massive resurgence in the 2010s, with blockbuster action-driven hits like Wanted, Dabangg, and Ek Tha Tiger.
  • Television Impact: His career has been bolstered by hosting the reality show Bigg Boss, which has strengthened his connection with fans, notes Reddit users.
  • Philanthropy: Salman operates the Being Human Foundation, focusing on education and healthcare, which enhances his public image.
  • "Bhai" Persona: He is affectionately known as "Bhai" (Brother) in India, a title reflecting his status as a relatable yet massive cultural icon.
