but that's not what you said back then. You said that it was allowed earlier later changes were made in Quran to prohibit that..
Now IIRC Quran doesn't even prohibit women from going for Hajj without Mehram, this rule comes from Bukhari Hadeeth, interestingly the Shias don't consider Bukhari as Sahih Hadeeth(authentic Hadeeth) so they don't consider Mehram an obligatory requirement (obviously even they had to follow that till recently since Saudi law was such)
The point I wanted to highlight was that history isn't some belief that you could say anything about it as a fact
