Maybe I've misunderstood something... is it possible by religious leaders to make additional rules or to interpret rules and teach them in a way it isn't meant in the Quran?
The original message is always the same from our Lord, but unfortunately, differences of opinion exist due to individual interpretations of the message, which shouldn't. However, the text cannot be altered at all. On the other side, there are certain people that misrepresented the actual wording with their own twisted narratives, resulting in various sects, which Allah clearly prohibited here:
And hold firmly together to the rope of Allah and do not be divided. Remember Allah’s favour upon you when you were enemies, then He united your hearts, so you by His grace became brothers. [Surah Al Imran]
That's why only the Quran and Hadith (only the strongest ones) are always followed due to their authenticity.
Moreover, Muslims believe the Quran is a divine safeguard, both in its preservation and its function. Allah explicitly promises to protect it from alteration in the following verse:
It is certainly We Who have revealed the Reminder, and it is certainly We Who will preserve it. (Quran 15:9)
Hope this help will for a better understanding. Even we believe Prophet Isa A.S and Maryam too and there is a entire chapter in Quran regarding that.
