There was a colors show naa bole tum naa maine kuch kaha in which the ML married a woman who had two kids from previous marriage. Also in Balika Vadhu, Vikrant Massey's character married Jagdish's pregnant sister. Dadisa went berserk after watching them taking pheras because if the child in the womb is a girl then that will mean the guy is taking pheras with both mother and daughter

Wo sirf kehne ki baat hai, reality was something else. She wanted to let Gautam go and retain her mahan maata image...

She wanted ready made sons for herself. As it is very difficult to handle a male toddler (personal experience chal raha so don't doubt me, I envy so much those who have only daughters)
