No, they were never promised as leads or anything. Star is behind this as all their new shows are flopping. They are trying this to see if this brings ratings by making a spin off show from their top show to be like a new show for the channel. So remains to be seen if it works for them or not. Also Rohit appears to have been not happy with what he was getting in the show from what I heard from others who watched his interviews with the way he talked of OG actors there and archiving all Kyunki posts a while back and then opening those posts again few weeks ago. I felt he may have got something from Ekta for him to opening Kyunki related posts again, so this spin off is that deal that he got for him to unarchive Kyunki posts
