Yesterday’s episode really touched my heart, perhaps more than the previous one where Gautam got Tulsi to agree to come back.

I am glad that we saw as the audience the conversation that went down between Karan and Gautam. Of all the people at SN, I was most interested in seeing their interaction as the family started thanking Gautam which included Karan’s wife and son. Even they’re unaware of the situation and the conversation that the brothers had which paved way for Tulsi’s return.

In a subtle way, it’s a nod to the family working together that finally brought Tulsi back but in particular the focus was on the two sons who hold her heart the most and are the dearest to her, uniting together that did the trick where everything else failed. As Tulsi kept reiterating in her scene with Gautam, he’s her firstborn, the child who made her a mother, who is responsible for rewiring her completely as a woman, a person from the moment he was in her womb to the present moment. She experienced a love so powerful that her heart couldn’t hold it courtesy of him for the first time ever in her life all because of him. He’ll be forever special to her simply because he’s her first.

Then there’s Karan - the child she doesn’t share blood with, the one whose existence was a source of torment and shame for her, the greatest pain that she endured. Yet it is he who miraculously gets her like no other child of hers ever does or ever will. He’s the child who chose her as a mother and has never since looked back on his decision even once. Tulsi had to make a very conscious effort just to accept him, she had to undergo the harshest lessons life could offer to realise blood isn’t enough when it comes to matters of the heart - where loyalty, trust, respect and love are concerned. Her own blood let her down and she was repulsed by the thought of being the one who brought such a son in this world; but the one who provided her absolution and acceptance, understanding and love, respect and loyalty was not the son who shared her blood but the son who had truly meant it when he called her Maa.

Karan is the child of her heart and she doesn’t love him because she’s afraid that the world, Mihir or Karan himself might someday accuse her of playing a stepmom.. but because he left her no choice when it came to loving him… and once that gate was opened, Tulsi herself never knew how she came to love him so deeply that it felt as easy and natural as breathing.

It makes absolute sense that it’s these two working together that finally got Tulsi to do what everyone else couldn’t do.

I loved how in the end when they shake hands there are no words spoken between them but there’s a loaded silence that says everything that needs to be said between them which the rest of the family couldn’t catch up on either. To them, it was Karan thanking Gautam as everyone else did prior to him.. but between them it was the silent understanding that passed which said… this is our family, these are our parents and we are brothers whether we like each other or not… we can argue and destroy everything but look what we can achieve if we work together - we can accomplish the impossible.

The next moment that I adored was when Tulsi accepted Gautam’s request that she not ask him to stay back and as she does so she simply says - let us know if you need our help for anything. That simple statement was all the assurance that Gautam needed and wanted from his parents, a promise that they’d be with him and there for him should he need them, they’re just a call away. It doesn’t even have to be anything more than just being a sounding board but if that’s what helps him then that’s what they’ll do even if it’s the middle of the night.

Kids don’t always need parents to get things but they need their presence just to know they’re not alone… no matter how old they are or get; in that one simple line that Tulsi uttered, which Mihir’s look said was from the both of them gave Gautam what he desperately needed and wanted from them.

Sach mein fir se prove hua ki best beta toh karan hi hai...Gautam ke itna kuch sunane ke bad bhi karan Gautam ko pyar se samjhata raha...request karta raha tulsi ke liye...but kisi ko ye Zahir nahi hone dia ki phn karan ne hi kia tha gautam ko...even sab ne gautam ko praise kia but unlike gautam karan ko bilkul bura nahi laga...even woh khud ake gautam se haat milaya...karan ek selfless character tha aur hai abhi bhi

@b: especially his dialogue — just like you cannot refuse me, I wouldn’t be able to either & my family needs me. She understood his situation in that moment, but also wanted him to know that they’ll always there for him!

more than that. It might not be intentional from the makers, but what actually warmed me was that Gautam has been avoiding the calls of his parents for months (or even years), but when it came to the call of Karan he immediately received, even saying that he was surprised Karan had his number, that means (at least to me) they weren't in contact with each other, but somehow Gautam was waiting for a call from his brother.

He was saying that he would disconnect, but he actually didn't..

I really wanted one scene between the two when he says he understands why he is so loved by their parents, but I think makers ended with that flashback, family or even Tulsi will never get to know the truth
