for them it begins with simple things like spitting in food. Then defeating in food and temples. And then grows to direct violence against humans. The last part is the most heinous.

This is why I defend a pm who was left with no choice after oct 7. And a PM who was left with no choice after Pehelgaum. They have tried and tried and tried to be restrained but it doesn’t work with the Islamic extremists. There is no reasoning with them. They have to be eliminated. Humanity doesn’t have another option.

You cant really compare iran with states like iraq, afghanistan and others where the USA failed miserably even after liberating them. The main reason for that failure was that their populations remained deeply religious so it was easier for radicalized groups to brainwash people and regain control.

Iranian people, however, are quite different from those nations. 2/3rd of them don't even consides themselves muslim now, they hate islam like anything. Their mindset is generally more modern compared to neighboring countries where religion plays a dominant role in daily life and politics.

Religion plays a very important role in what happens to a nation, even after it gains freedom. Iranian people tend to be more educated and progressive in nature and many feel they are being controlled by an oppressive regime. That wasnt entirely the case in iraq and afghanistan, where lower levels of education, long term instability and strong religious influence made it easier for extremist groups to regain power.

These differences play a major role in distinguishing iran from iraq and afghanistan.

I hope you are right for the sake of humanity and those people. I don’t believe that 2/3 of iran is still liberal let alone not Islamic anymore.

I hope they come out on the streets and end this war asap with that huge a majority.

I would love to be wrong on this so not arguing even.

Good summary of the problem. If they believe in one absolute truth and that includes kill all others or make them slaves and charge taxes , there is no path of redemption

Basically Extremists are the ones who follow the book word by word. Moderates either cherry pick or remain silent or deny (al Takiyya).

I applaud the govt for swift action and jail for the offenders. I hope this arrests is a way of reforming their thinking and they change their ways and learn from it.
