Like i mentioned earlier too, one of the few good things that have happened is a good revision of Season 1 courtesy Gautam-Karan.
Now coming to Gautam vs Karan's upbringing.
Why i mentioned about Karan being brought up abroad was exactly about the prejudice associated to a single mother. Not financial at ALL.
Even to this day, we operate under certain societal norms that are more relaxed and more accepted elsewhere.
So, to say Karan may have faced prejudice, discrimination due to him being born out of wedlock may not be the case.
Success is a GREAT normaliser. When Karan came to India, he was successful, people would have tried to probe, even talk behind closed doors but would Not dare cross the line.
Next about acceptance/blending in.
It is natural for younger children to be accepted. Like for example: it is easier for Akshay and Madhavi to blend into any family compared to Angad-Vrinda despite the duration being 6-7 years.
Imagine Angad rejoins Virani Industries and is given a project and he is running a certain way (may be something thay worked 7 years back) and Hritik or Parth come to correct him at regular intervals about changes that may have happened for something as, in their operating model, changes in compliance rules etc. it would hurt Angad, may be he would feel he doesn’t belong there anymore or doesn't habe the freedom anymore.
Likewise Munni has been with Viranis since her childhood, practically raised with the family and knows them better than Vrinda. So, when there are repeated instances where Munni is for example given more responsibilities, work than Vrinda, unintentional comparison (which invariably will occur in a joint family), there sets in a silent, unintentional resentment towards the said person.
There was a scene in Season 1 where Hemant's wife Pooja had said that she had accepted the fact the neither would she get the same respect or importance as Tulsi nor the acceptance from the elders of the family. She only had one thing she could say she did right was by raising her children right and that too was taken off her woth Tarun being implicated in a false case and Saahil wanting to marry Ganga.
Now draw parallels of this kind of acceptance to Karan, Gautam, for that matter ever Saahil.
the issue here is the show specifically mentioned that Karan was ill treated by the society due to him being illegitimate. Damini 's parents are clear proof. He faced the same issue with Nandani's family even after joining Viranis when he was hugely successful so that assumption that he being successful/financially stable leading him to not face the prejudice of society for being an illegitimate child is opposite of what this show clearly mentioned and had shown.
Also Karan was not a successful person when he came to India but a simple college graduate with zero experience.
Now the Gautam Sahil issue you are mentioning. It was Sahil who was handling the project and Gautam who criticized him. Gautam wasn't a good businessman as we can see he relied on Kabir and Kamya in the first independent project.
Karan never had the acceptance. The moment family got to know that Karan was Mihir's son, they started hating him forgetting all the good things that he had done, Gautam on the other hand had family waiting for him, the moment his identity was revealed they forgave all his misdeeds and got him home with love...
What comparison of acceptance are you doing?? Even after entering the family, Karan had to repeatedly prove his loyalty to the family while Gautam's real going in the wrong direction acts were completely ignored. Gautam was accepted by the family just by his existence, Karan was never accepted even by his father
That's why I am not able to understand why are you saying that family preferred Karan over Gautam. Sahil manbe for sometime but when Karan?? You are making a statement like Gautam had challenges with family and Karan had a smooth flow, while that's definitely not the case.
Yes Gautam and Ba brought Karan home, but that was after Gautam had destroyed Karan's personal life by taking away his lover the only one left by his side after his mother. And that was after the time when Karan went to the police station to argue against arrest of Gautam. He was the one to find out the way to get Gautam out and even went to Gujral's to get the NOC. Ba and the entire family then realised that Karan too needs to get a family acceptance. Tulsi went to Karan asking him to come when he said that he wants Ba to take him in since she was the one to stop him entering the house.
And I really didn't understand what was the comparison with Akshay Madhavi here, neither Karan not Gautam joined the family as kids so obviously they had to adjust in a new environment as an adult
Yes show wise Karan was given more importance than Gautam but that was because in the show Karan was always doubted by the family

Now draw parallels of this kind of acceptance to Karan, Gautam, for that matter ever Saahil.
Karan did face discrimination for being born out of wedlock! It’s established not just once but twice!
Damini is first introduced as his ex-girlfriend and when Saahil wonders who she is, Karan tells him she’s amongst what he’s lost owing to Mihir never recognising him as a son. Eventually we find out that they were a couple and Karan wanted to marry her, but her parents refused to accept the marriage because he was illegitimate.
Later on we see Nandini’s family repeating the same objection. Karan doesn’t just back off from accepting his feelings for Nandini as he’s grateful to Tulsi and wants to repay her kindness by presenting Nandini to her as some kind of token of gratitude she could then hand over to Ansh; he literally hears her Dadaji telling Nandini that he’s observed her with Karan and can see what’s happening between them clear as a day but he’s not going to accept him for her. That old man knows Ansh was raised by Aditya Gujral, a man associated with many criminal activities, yet he’s willing to take Ansh for a SIL over Karan and tells Nandini the same in so many words by insisting that she marry Ansh as he’s at least a legitimate son of Tulsi and Mihir even if he’s been raised by the wrong sort of man. He believed that Tulsi’s blood and her Sanskaars would shine through ultimately and where they lacked, Nandini could help Ansh as a wife.
So the stigma of being raised as an illegitimate child is very much a central theme for his character. Karan likely didn’t face the same sort of treatment from non-Indian origin people in Australia as a child who didn’t really care about the marital status of his parents to judge his birth… but he has definitely been around enough people who had their roots in the Indian culture that he understood that the status was a big deal and not in a good way. He understood that it may not matter to a lot of people whether or not his parents had him as a married couple or out of wedlock - but to the people he looked like and was a part of - it mattered quite a lot and though he had done nothing beyond being born, he was going to suffer the consequences of his parents decision to have him when they clearly understood what it could mean for him and still went ahead.
He couldn’t hate his mom since she played the victim card well but he certainly hated his dad for doing this to both of them and later on to Tulsi as well, since from day one Karan saw her as a victim too and had no ill feelings towards her as being the reason why his parents never got together.
They look good together and even have chemistry but the practical person within me just refuses to accept that they can be together as a couple after what she did. I honestly don’t understand how Ajay could possibly still have feelings for her.
It’s a pity because otherwise these two could have been perhaps the only pair in this new generation that I could have shipped.
I never got into Angad Vrinda as a couple since I can’t for the life of me ship couples whose relationship relies solely on trip, fall, catch, stare formula. The actors individually and combined are also as interesting to watch as paint drying.
Hrithik Munni could have worked if they had perhaps written them better but he didn’t value her as a human being until he was made to live with Mittali who would’ve made anyone look better as a life partner in comparison to Hrithik if they’d so much as spoken respectfully and nicely to him. Munni literally had no self respect and is marrying a guy who got divorced less than a week ago! Girl, you could have taken it slow and at least let a couple of months go so as to not be called a home wrecker or a rebound wife!
Parth Vaishnavi are meh.
It’s astonishing that in this literally overcrowded bunch of people I would rather watch 2 minutes of screen time between Amar and Smriti than any of the newbs as I know I’d be treated to some good chemistry even if the writing may not be up to the mark, but these two can hold my attention effortlessly and I can’t stand the new couples if I tried!

I am iffy about Pari and Ajay characters especially since its Ajay dreaming about Pari. Given that Pari had emotionally cheated and probably physically cheated on Ajay + traumatized his family, its hard accepting that he is falling in love with her all over again.
It sounds like he has savior complex.
Paarth and Vaishnavi are growing on me a bit especially with Karan teasing him.
