But till the end of the season, I think Dhoni made them be cordial and due to Dhoni, Jaddu also left the matter.

As he did post everything is okay and it was due to Dhoni, that everyone knew.

So now, CSK may have told him they will not retain him next time, or he knew Dhoni won't be there next cycle and don't want to continue without him.

So he left.

Good luck to him and CSK. I hope both of them are happy.

Jaddu is a great all rounder but he’s not captaincy material, imo.

Never heard of him. Google search says he was a former English player. Can't say what his work has been so far.

PS: I have a question... Is the staff of our national team allowed to serve in the IPL?

Not everyone is meant for the leadership roles. He's not someone I believe that can handle it. His performance suffers big time. Let the ones who can handle this take this extra pressure. I don't understand why are they so eager to put their heads in the lion's mouth. The same was with Sehwag... Excellent player, but not necessarily a good captain.

While it’s allowed, I don’t think it’s something in practise.

Got this from Google:

Yes, staff of national teams (such as support staff, coaches, and trainers) are generally allowed to work in the Indian Premier League(IPL). However, their participation is subject to permission from their respective national cricket boards and must not conflict with national team duties, especially regarding confidentiality and security protocols. I was confused because while RD was the national coach, he didn't do IPL and when he retired, he exchanged roles with GG. So I thought, maybe the national staff is not permitted to do so. Because none of our national staff participates in the IPL. Does it?

Exactly. You need a cool head—someone who can handle pressure with ease. Hamesha sirf Plan B hi nahi, Plan C aur D bhi sochke rakhna padta hai. The funny thing is, you don’t even have to be an excellent player to be a good captain. MS, for example, might not have always been the best purely in terms of batting numbers, but his ability to assess conditions and read the game has always been top-notch.

Contributing as a player in a team sport is one thing, but captaincy is a completely different ball game. As a captain, you have to think about the resources you have, how to use them effectively, and ensure everything runs smoothly on the field. And if your plans go south, you’ll have to be the one who has to step up and take the heat.

One hundred percent agree with you...

Though what are your thoughts, is Ruturaj actually a good captain or should Sanju be handed over this responsibility?

I’m sorry I was wrong. Apparently there’s an explicit rule of BCCI that states they cannot double term. It’s either IPL or national duty.

Since 2017, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has strictly prohibited national team coaches and support staff from working in the IPL simultaneously due to Conflict of Interest regulations.

Under current rules, an individual cannot hold more than one post at a single point in time, meaning you must choose between the national side and an IPL franchise.
