From my experience with Human Rights orgs. I know that when celebrities get involved, it can sometimes be about PR.

I haven't met Angelina Jolie, not necessarily support every action, but someone I briefly spoke with at an event said she's one of the celebrities who makes an effort to be well-informed about the issues she supports, has a long-standing association with them, and actually walks the walk. Not publicise every time.
