That's bcoz we started appreciating things from their outer look, assess people by their clothes, financial status and power.
We forgot the very core of our culture and value system in order to prove modern, open minded, secular, intellect, self sufficient, individual and watching crap like Ekta stories😂😂.
And our education system is to be blamed for this, earlier Gurukul system taught both vidya and buddhi, not degree certificates sitting in an air-conditioning rooms. Gurukul taught both physical and mental stability imparting wisdom, harmony among human beings, animals and be as part of nature hand in hand, not to destroy for our own selfish motives. That is why indians worshipped river, mountain, tree, animals etc way to show gratitude.
We have to look backwards and learn a lot, rediscover our ownself and try to find the answers for coexistence, which definitely is missing among human beings.
Sorry, off topic..
Don’t be sorry. This is exactly what happened and needs to be fixed.
We forgot our own history, knowledge, ethos, values, civilisational traditions which promoted diversity in every sphere of life. We don’t even believe in divine power being singular though we know it’s only one - but we believe it manifests itself in various forms for our sakes, so we can all access it in our own ways. We can all call even the same form with over a 1000 names and no one can tell you it’s wrong or improper. Call him Shiv or Mahadev, Bholebaba or Shankar no one will tell you that you can’t address him as such. Worship him as a yogi in his Sadhana or as Nataraj, dancing away merrily as he creates and destroys galaxies in the cosmos he created, perform Sadhanas of him as a Shamshan Vaasi to attain Moksha or see him as the ultimate divine lover who would wait for eternity to reunite with his Shakti as she too would take numerous rebirths just to get back with him again. He is all of these and more and no one will say how is that possible if they understand… if they don’t no amount of explaining will make a difference.
Fortunately, we are waking up to the fact that we lost out on so much by trying to be who we were not and maybe we would recover some of what we lost.

. He was smiling sarcastically. Few things men don't understand or atleast pretend not to understand.🙄
