He’s a rich entitled kid who thinks dad must pay for everything for his life until he gets to start working on a business founded by dad or granddad and claim how he’s successful.
He’s not a typical middle class boy who has seen his parents struggling to pay bills or who cut their own purchases short to ensure his education fund or a marriage fund for a sister was being saved.
Even the debt his dad has is in the amount of 40 crores. How many people even have the financial foundation to be able to get that much debt, let alone imagine paying it off?
He would have known that he can’t expect his parents to do everything for him if he had seen a bit of financial struggle of an average middle class person. But he’s born with a silver spoon in his mouth. To him the idea of working part time or securing an internship while he does a course wouldn’t have even occurred or seemed beneath him. Worse his mom reinforced that idea with her attitude.
Had Damini encouraged her son to take some responsibility to fulfil his dreams on his own and ask his dad to chip in for what he couldn’t manage it was understandable; had she volunteered some of her savings or that she would work as well and contribute to help her son fulfil his dreams it would have been a different scenario, but she wants Gautam to pay for everything. Her idea of her son’s success is that it must come at the expenses of his father entirely. The hilarious irony at play here is that she wants her son to go to a country where he would have no help whatsoever to even do laundry. Has she taken any care to ensure that he has enough life skills to survive outside of India on his own? Because those 2.5 crores can get him admission in a university but they won’t be enough to pay for his daily expenses.
Imagine breaking your ties with your husband/father failing to send sending you/your son to a country where their own citizens are frustrated with their education system going too woke for even Americans to be able to palette it. Not to mention the racism aimed at Indians which has just increased in the recent times with their infamous gun violence.
