Though the part is that of an NRI, she sure looks like and acts like a gori.
My God, I haven't met one NRI like this, though I suspect there must be
some. I would have liked to seen something Indian about Liza--clothes,
some cultural or religious knowledge, how to interact within an Indian
family, food preferences, slightly brown complexion...and a name!
To the creatives, be realistic. The stereotypes are so absurd. I know
conflict is important in any show and for that you need marked
differences, but this is kind of stupid. And I feel stupid for watching it!
Because I'm an NRI and I have never in my 20+ years abroad, met
someone like Liza. Not all of us dye our hair almost blonde, cake on
powder on our faces, and apply gaudy makeup and clothes.
For the show's sake, make poor Liza at least look somewhat Indian or act
somewhat Indian. Because all I see on the screen is an extremely white
(as in Aryan nation and not complexion), homewrecking girl with a
questionable taste in clothes.
