What did Tapsee do (relative to not respecting the audience)?

She told the audience to boycott her films..”If u don’t boycott our film we will feel out of place.” She belongs to India..how can we make her feel out of place 🤷🏻♀️
Something similar happened with Kareena when she said “mat dekho na”.
I like Taapsee’s movies n her acting..but also know that audience won’t turn up in theatres for her movies
Hmmmm... actually, I thought it would be because of the clearly women-oriented content... As Indian audience predominently is male (and driven by male interest), I never expect 'high' number for those movies.

Just to name a few women oriented hit movies..Gangubhai, Raazi, Thappad, Queen, Mardaani series, Kahaani, English Vinglish, Pink, Piku, Neerja, No one killed Jessica and many more
2 of these r Taapsee’s b4 she asked audience to boycott her
You're right... however except Gangubai and Mardaani 3 all those movies had been successful b e f o r e Covid changed the movie-going attitude (not only in India, though).
I wonder what make people angry about Tapsee's reason to say to boycott her... wasn't it meant in a sarcastic way in response to the boycott-hashtags infesting social media... personally I saw it as a bold stand against these concerted campaigns (which only stopped after the Pathaan success ridiculed them).

Ok so u meant movie-going attitude changed after covid. It has nothing to do with India’s predominantly male audience or something..fine.
M talking about just me..personally I didn’t like the way she mocked the audience..so m not going to watch any of her movies in theatre
Not considering the movies you named, my own experience in situ definitely showed me a strong predominence of male audience - before and after Covid... before, yet, many more families were in the theatres...
My friends, though, still make it a point to go with their parents and siblings (etc), but prefer to skip the food.
