he has now openly hinted in today live that gen 5 may come in March. He said that channel isn't at all satisfied with the show and has communicated the same to makers. Infact the demand is 2.0 not even 1.8 now and top 3.
Apni yeh rishta audience bachane ke liye he kept on buttering that next 2 weeks trp will be crucial. But I think today TRP has done and dusted this gen.

There's no smoke without fire. He can lie about tracks because the script changes weekly due to trps but leap is something whose planning take time . Even tv ka gabbar is dropping hints about gen 5 preparations. If whispers have started coming out there might be some true. Both these guys had also hinted about teenage leap in January and it came true in Feb reason whatsoever.
The biggest hint is dropping trps itself. SP will never tolerate its legacy show getting defeated by Vasudha and that too by big margin.

If they want Gen 5 to work then they have to greatly redeem Maira and make her choose her mother over her father. And Abhira shouldn’t reunite with Armaan. Armaan and Vidya should also be punished.

It's fully underperforming for six months. Gen 3 never got this grace. Favouritism to actors play such a important role. Hasi ki baat toh yeh hain due to the same favouritism they have tanked the show

Agar November-December me le lete toh best rehta because maira ke taraf negativity nahi thi. But they made her biased towards her criminal father who's insanely hated. Result is she's also getting hatred
More than Geetu killing Abhimaan I wanted her give birth to pl since they explicitly showed Geetmaan getting physical. Geetu faking her death as she was guilty and dying during childbirth. And Dadu could’ve handed over the kid to Ab. It would’ve been a perfect setup for gen leap. And Yuvi could’ve killed Abhimaan after coming from jail. His change of heart was the most nonsensical thing of this gen that too coz of Maira.

But I did read somewhere that makers never wanted huge gap between fl and pl as eventually both fall for the same guy. Ak Aaru had 2-3 yrs gap and I guess same was for Naira Gayu. This gen they had no other choice. Since HC neither agreed for Abhirohi nor to extend his contract they brought gen 4 and made Ruhi pl, warna aaj Ab pl hoti.
