yes this show is a remake but I don't know how closely they will follow it. I watched bits of it but I got bored and dropped it after these two got married. I checked in occasionally by just watching the trailers and glanced through the final eps.
So here is what I remember about the original:
-- dr fareed and kausar got married. my sense was divorce from prior spouses was messy. not sure what happened to sultana but she wasn't there in the later episodes I saw.
-- parvez had prosthetic hand. looked like he lost his hand as some sort of punishment for stealing??? who knows. he also got second wife and son
-- mahid and saher it seems had divorced. saher left abroad to study (in the original she was some math genius) and then came back home. they got remarried. he worked as some guidance counselor in fareed's hospital
-- the original ran into lot of problems with the turkish broadcaster and was put on pause few times. the drama was showing lot of regional political stuff and most of it blew right over my head. the group was also very conservative as well as controlling and plain weird. so there was barely in colour in terms of dressing and all the women were in full scarf and robe even in home scenes. there was also talks about the number of restrictions and they were essentially following their own interpretations rather than how the society/legal system acted. so it felt more like this was some sort of quasi cult.
-- not sure why but fareed actually was killed off. something to do with that group and their internal politics. kausar then takes over dada huzoor's place with the support of mahid and that uncle and basically modernizes it somewhat while also following the heart of the religion.
-- I think the intent of the show makers was to create debates about how religion is sometimes being misinterpreted and used to create oppressive groups. so they wanted to show the pluses and minuses of these small sects that fly under the radar and whether they are good or bad. so rather than romance or underage marriage or follow your dreams, it was more about oppression due to belief.

Mehendi episode outfit was really nice, then the Nikkah outfits were okay but not a fan of too dark colours for Nikkah outfits, the Walima outfit is
Also I notice whenever Seher and Mahid are twinning their understanding matches eventually like the picnic episode and mehendi episode, and when they are not they are at loggerheads, maybe something positive during Walima for them? 😊
that scene was so beautiful. i think in the OG, it was Mahid who gave Seher freedom(divorce) and she wasnt happy with it, but they united eventually. Parvez’s character became positive eventually (not sure though) Fareed’s ending was so sad. But there were some diff like Sultana didnt exist, and Parvez-Safia’s character in the OG were more serious than funny. The actor who played Turkish version Mahid is currently playing the role of Ertugrul’s grandson that’s all I know
