I looked at scene different angle. DK has taken care of Mannat and family for years, and after hearing Vik’s name from Dua, Neetu got her senses back and it has triggered her inner turmoil which she couldn’t express. That moment lightened hope in her that her broken family could be restored. Although she had long sensed how DK and Mannat functioned together, Vik’s name revived a possibility she had mentally held on to. The writers used this moment to show a shift in DK’s emotional arc. Neetu’s repeated pushing led DK to finally acknowledge his feelings in front of her while Mannat remains unaware. To Mannat, DK is still just a dependable friend. Neetu questioning DK’s intentions and labelling their relationship only makes Mannat resent Vik more as she feels his presence is the reason Neetu has turned against DK and forgotten his sacrifices. In the dream sequence, Vik apologising to DK is not about DK being mahaan. It reflects Vik’s guilt over his past actions especially the CA incident, which made him believe he had lost his family forever. From his perspective, the apology comes from regret over hurting Mannat and disrupting multiple lives. Neetu knows that Dua is Vikrant and Mannat’s child. She tried to tell Vikrant, but Mannat stopped her due to past trauma, and DK also intervened for Mannat and stopped Neetu meeting Vik. In that heated moment, Neetu accused DK of deliberately keeping Vikrant away, leading DK to admit his feelings while stating he never crossed boundaries and knows Mannat still loves Vikrant. In Neetu’s dream, DK appears as the son she once accepted who was supportive of ManVik. This is not Neetu seeing DK as mahaan but her subconscious mind trying to resolve an uncontrollable reality. DK’s happiness in the dream reflects Neetu’s wish for peace, not DK’s emotional truth. The dream ultimately reveals Neetu’s inner conflict between her son’s past mistakes, Mannat’s pain, DK’s unspoken emotions, and her desire to reunite her family.
Love this.... this is what I made it out to be
But I refrained from saying it since I am a certified mahaan DK lawyer.... I hope you understand
. Did not want more indirects
Bold.... on these lines.... I am still trying to wrap my head around this but I feel now that DK did not realize his feelings till Neetu pointed them out to him... thats why he added a shayad and said pasand not pyar ... also prior to that by the pool side... he did not understand Neetu's allusions till she clearly spelled it out for him.... which means either DK (not Manit
) is a great actor and had been pretending all along or he genuinely had not thought on those lines...
Thats why I said Neetu might have said it in anger... but she did not actually mean it...
Another thing is DKs memories always have more of Dua... Mannat is there by association... till he got to know from her that Vik has moved on that is. He still ended the convo with I see respect for me in Mannats eyes and I am content with it.
My question to you since you can approach this without bias is.... why do you think they added this flip?
If you ask me, a simple solution could have been that DK remains the true supporter but Vik doesnt MU them... meaning he didnt mean those words he said about Mannat and DK pre leap .... the writers could have elevated Vik instantly without dragging DK down... as that is a major point of contention between Mannat and Vik and for the audience who were pissed off with the nature of these allegations.
Now with this flip, it indirectly says Vik was right and Neetus of the world would defend him
I see this only to somehow make it parallel to YV and DM.... that because Vik has a GF (who is surely going to be the manufacturer of cringe in Mumbai) and correlate that with DM.
