To those who have lived extensively in both kind of climates , what will you pick from either of these two for straight 6-7 months per year supposedly - chilly winter (of say Shimla Mussoorie kind) or hot humid summer (of say Gangetic plains kind) ?

ps - don't factor electrical equipment of AC & heater in picking your choice

Now we experience 7-8 month of heat , easily chilly weather over summer.

- you can go weeks without showering

- save money in water and electricity

- with winter you can just use layer of clothes to protect but with summer there is no rescue except 24x7 ac.

- winter clothes are just better

- food tastes better and you can try lot of cuisines in winter.

- heard people with partner have said winter better to romance ( can't confirm)

- better sleep in rajai , in summer you can't sleep.

- people go in their house early and stop making extrovert noises all the time , more peaceful.

- a little bit of sun just hit right in feels.

Long winter spell anyday over the other . Getting out of rajai hits hard but not hard enough than toiling outside in field work when blazing sun rains down agni missiles unrelentingly , not to mention when power (read as AC) goes off in hot humid nights when I am about to relax & recuperate from daytime onslaught at which point I simply throw in the towel & seriously think about circumventing tough land laws of Himachal / Uttarakhand & sneak in there anyhow .

Anyway as I speak , I am inside quilt with fresh , cool breeze swishing past the trees right into my room from window caressing my face & whispering me happy night . That's what I am asking for .

Best is Spring/autumn but if my choice is limited then I would choose the Chilly winters....Lived extensively in both the extremes and will always prefer the chilly winters over the hot humid summers...arghhh..On a chilly day you can layer yourself up and go to work but on a hot humid day there is simply no way to protect yourself other than staying indoors....

Chilly weather /winter . As a skinny person who has to wear layers to not look like a 14 year old I hate hot weather. There's this de facto obligation to be more outgoing, to socialise more when it's sunny and birdy and people-ey outside even when you're not in the mood. And footwear ! . Most people wear covered shoes in cold weather but when it's sunny and tropical theres ugly toes everywhere ,sticking out of flip flops . Sweaty underarms . Sweaty other places right next to you at the mall or on public transport . Eww.
