Generally Age is not the only metric to accept / reject marriage.
Society prespective, reaching puberty, mental maturity and knowledge to take care of your responsibility in the relationship. Those are all things should be considered for this.
For example in old times . In places where the environment was mostly hot. Women reached puberty in less age the women today (hormons stuff sesrch if you want). So early marriage was accepted in that time.
Secondly from Society prespective. Woman main responsibilities was taking care of her home and raising her children. So mothers generally taught girls from young age to cook .. etc. And with big shared family houses it was easier for them to split the child raising responsibility with her mom, sisters, aunts, mother in law ... etc.
From mental maturity, and relationship knowledge prespective. Girls learn by watching older women in the family. And sometimes by taking care for younger siblings.

All of what I mentioned above is still applicable today in some countries, villages or rural areas.
But it is mostly not applicable for most of modern girls who grew in cities, in humed air conditioned, cold env, where focusing in school activities and only think about there careers when they grow up. And there mothers did not teach them basic knowledge like cooking until they reached 11 or more.

For mehid revenge. I think it is temporary anger from the situation. After he know what hidden from him. He will understand. And even become helper for her to reach her dreams.
But from profit prespective they need to make the leads struggle to make the serial take more time so they gain more money. But TRP will decide how they change events pace.
