When i read reviews,i wonder why people want to compare Border 2 with Border. It has nothing to do with Border. Border was one part of the battle in 1971 in Longewala involving Army BSF and Air Force. It was one part of the whole war. And Border 2 is about the other parts of the war in which Army Air Force & Navy came together & fought along with Longewala happening together maybe difference is in timing but same war but different forces ...
People watch it as a film & i saw a few youtubers reviews which i find very rude & disrespectful towards the armed forces. Learn your history and respect your armed forces. Bharat Mata Ki Jai & Jai Hind is not to mouth just for the sake of it. Feel it through your soul & heart and think about the sacrifices the armed forces made so did their families. Stop mocking or be disrespectful just because of actors, look at them as the soldiers who fought in that 1971 war and lay down their lives for motherland
bold: You're correct respective to the historical background content, but according to my friends, the rendition in telling, cinematic quality and editing was what was the most disappointing (as for the acting, they all found Varun's performance the most remarkable one). The title of the movie could have been another one but it is crystal-clear that - especially after Gadar 2 - it was deliberately given to connect to the nostalgia of the movie Border (and therefore focussing more on making money instead of a 'good' patriotic movie).
bold: Absolutely agree (although not knowing o n e of the reviews posted here - until now only feedback from my friends through conversations). However, especially in movies and now especially in a time where many major elections in India happen, the reel history far too often gets made up for certain narratives that suits the ruling party. As for Border 2 which I won't watch, I can't point at the differences between 'real' and 'reel', though... but I could tell for Dhurandhar (but won't do here).
According to what I got to know, Border 2 would in no way 'deserve' the praising hype as the quality of the movie is far behind what Aditiya Dhar presented with both his war movies (and my friends even found that the movie tried to "force" an emotional connect - even those living in India). Nevertheless, emotional connect is a personal thing, so nothing, I would contest
