They got him because they didn’t have a lot of actors around who could play a character in his 40s or 50s. Most people weren’t ready to age onscreen and off those that were - most were working on other Balaji shows already. Then there was the prices that had to be agreed upon. Ronit fit all the right boxes. Was old enough to play a dad, didn’t mind playing dad to grown ups, wasn’t asking for sky high prices and so he stuck.

As it is they knew after Amar everyone would fall short so that was also a factor. Most actors knew it was an iconic character and they’re bound to be compared with Amar. No one wanted to be a replacement as it is, but they definitely didn’t want to replace an iconic character because getting rejected would mean end of career. And I mean they weren’t wrong, look at Inder, the man who replaced Amar as Mihir before Ronit. His career was over in movies which is why he came to TV. Then he was replaced on TV within a few weeks too and then never seen again on anything as far as I know.

But finding about Amar’s Mihir craze and him and tulsi’s craze makes sense why they showed them that way here right from the beginning. They focused on what made them so loved in s1. They weren’t wrong as they had chemistry right from the first episode I watched of them for the first time compared to the years of episodes I saw of Ronit’s Mihir with Tulsi where I never found any chemistry. I am so glad they brought back Amar because this season is all focused on TuHir. So it would’ve been so hard to watch Ronit with smriti as they didn’t have chemistry for this

I meant different forums same story. DMG fans obviously fought within themselves. It’s an iconic show because it had 1 guy with 3 girls playing the same character. Each girl’s fans fought with each other, then they all also would eventually end up fighting with his fans too and sometimes ganging up together for the same I don’t think I know of a more messier, more chaotic rivalry between fans of the same show and the same pair in all my time on IF. And I have been here for nearly 2 decades and seen a lot of fandoms

Then on KZK forum Shweta Cezanne fans eventually fought when things turned sour there.

That’s sad about Cezzane Shweta fans. They shouldn’t have fought. Cezzane Shweta were the best of the best as AnuPre ❤️

Technically Mandira was introduced when Amar was still Mihir and was included on the show primarily to get him back as she was the one who had saved his life.

So Ronit was the one who got a blackened face because Mandira got obsessed with Mihir whom she called Amar too…

Amar was picked as Mihir opposite Tulsi from day one based on their chemistry and look tests. There was a shortlist of actors who had been selected for Mihir from the auditions they had. Ekta had made up her mind that Smriti was her Tulsi from day one so when she set out to cast Mihir it was clear in her head that she was looking for someone who could look good with Smriti and have chemistry with her while at it too. Cezanne was on that shortlist too as he was approved for the look test and had passed whatever auditions they had kept until then.

But when he and Smriti did a mock shoot together their chemistry didn’t work; with Amar things clicked and they looked cute together too and so Amar got Mihir. Ekta had liked Cezanne too however and promised to give him another show if he would wait for a few months. He agreed and that’s how he got Kasautii. KZK went on the floors apparently a year or so after Kyunki. That’s how he got Anurag.

Nothing beats DMG, I remember the most infamous incident of that era was when someone had posted some nasty comments about Shilpa’s appearance. Some fan of hers found the OG Facebook page of that person and shared her pictures on here in one of the chat clubs and all hell broke loose as you can imagine what a nightmare it was back then. The horror of people going to that extent for a favourite as fans was a new concept that was discovered, at least when it came to how it can play out in the cyber arena.

That’s because for some reason Ekta always makes his characters cheat on their wives. He even cheated on Prerna with the sister of his ex wife despite being obsessed with Prerna and had a daughter courtesy of that ONS in KZK. I can’t recall who played these characters back then nor their onscreen names. But even Prerna was shocked to know Bajaj had cheated on her.

Yeah, Cezanne Smriti would have tanked the show from day one. Amar being a Gujarati IRL also helped make the choice easier. Initially the show was about a Punjabi family but then when Ekta got the writers onboard they suggested that the show should be about a Gujarati family instead. Too many shows had Punjabi families back then and the writers felt that Kyunki being about a Punjabi family would make it just another show in the crowd. So shifting base to Gujarat helped set it apart from day one as hardly any shows had Gujarati characters. They even suggested her unique Gujarati surnames as they themselves were from Gujarat and didn’t want to use the commonly known surnames like Shah, Patel, Kothari. Ekta liked Virani when she heard it as she felt that the surname sounded regal.

That idea had clicked well with Ekta and her mum, then they talked with the channel, the head of the channel also felt that it was a good suggestion. The Balaji stylist was Nim Sood who is Ekta’s real maasi and she also felt that styling wise as well the show would look different as most shows back then had women in suits or even if they wore sarees it was mostly older women and sometimes even they wore sarees even occasionally.

But Gujarati women are known to wear sarees on a daily basis, their way of draping saree is also different as are the patterns worn by them consisting of bandini, lehariya, patolas, mirror work etc.

The casting director set out to get as many Gujarati veteran stage actors who worked on TV as possible and that’s how Kyunki went from being called something like Biji Da Ghar to Kyunki, from being about a family that might have been called Malhotra or Singh or Kapoor to the family called as Viranis.

Tbh I didn't like Ronit in kasauti too. To me he felt a bit wooden

I think his acting really came out in adalat. Didn't follow the show much but he got great variety of emotions to play.

KSG played Jenny’s husband in KZK too. He is revealed to have drugged her childhood friend who happens to be the daughter of Bajaj’s driver for over two decades.
