Finished watching the first frost ..
It really was an overwhelming journey with these 2 ..
Like I said I loved the fact that the story was focused most on the lead pair than any of their friends & their side tracks (I like them though but I ff them coz I wanted to see the leads ) ..
So ..how their journey begins , when they confess , i loved the part that it was slow & steady ..like they got busy with work n couldn't find much time for each other then their first kiss then the gradual progress.. everything was detailed yet i never got bored of it ..the time they spent together was gold ..in the timeline they say it was 2 yrs they were together before the past came.knocking again..
I dont know much about ptsd but i believe its very very difficult to pull them.up frm the abyss of hopelessness & despair ..very difficult to make them.believe that they can be loved, that theres hope for them, that they're not worthless , that their situation will improve , that theres a better future ..that they can fight it out ..but for that also , they need a support system around them which this show has stressed ..tht yifan found people who cared for her , n it kept her afloat..
Earlier on I thot her track had something to do with the director of the news agency but it turned out to be diff..surprisingly she faced him head on ..she was much stronger than I expected ..
In this full series , she never once sought protection frm anyone..thats what I liked best.. she dealt with everything on her own , good or bad ..abs no complaints as far as her character goes except for that one part where she returns to a shady place (seriously!) To start all over again ..I mean im fine with the separation, I could totally get her ..she chose to suffer alone to protect him but why put herself in danger all over again ?
But I take it as the best phase for sang yan where he got the opportunity to dig her past & find out what exactly was going on with her all these years ..that was so painful & made me cry , when he saw in what filthy conditions she stayed in & never let him know ..the bg music & songs were fab ..when they were apart & how they met again , it was so organic ..nothing ott or dramatic about it ..he tried to look for her , failed & came bk to his work in the hope that she will contact him one day .. it was heartbreaking to hear him say tht he couldn't make her trust him enuf ..again..
The union was beautiful & their relationship progressed in that one scene ..she poured her heart out .. Why she ran away what all she dealt with..n from that point there was no looking back ...she fought for herself & for them & they won .. .
Her scene with her mother in the end was fantastic ..her mother will def share the crown with go ahead mls mother , in selfishness , manipulation & narcissism ..I mean she literally threw her daughter to the wolves just so that she cud survive ..
The scene in the hospital where he said tht at least this time he cud protect her , one of the best scenes in the show 👌 again the scene where he takes her to his family is also one of the best scenes, along with his proposal..Wonder how they manage to come up with diff ideas of proposing which always makes me cry ..
When she asked him if he was sent by her father & he says no , he volunteered 👌 when she says only such a warm & loving family can raise a son like him 👌 when he says ill always catch you😢
Their chemistry was top notch ..the fl was superb in emotional scenes I mean , I felt i literally heard her voice after 20th episode , she was that subdued as a character n the actor brought it out perfectly ..
The theme is different but yeah it is at the level of hidden love & likes...the kind of love that everyone desires
in hidden love , it was childhood crush ..but still , if they didnt meet later , she would move on in her life ..its not as though he was her complete life ..
Here in tff , its the same thing ..even while they were separate , he managed to connect to her somehow ..he stayed in the shadows but he was around her ..yet , when she meets him , he keeps distance ..may be he didnt wanna get hurt again , may be he wanted her to come to him this time , may be respected her wish to reject him ..he was shit scared tht she was in trouble , living in abs degraded conditions so he felt the need to protect her , stay with her till shes settled ..he restrained himself a lot around her , still made sure his love & care reaches her ..still manage to comfort her in so many ways ..this aspect of the story made it really really interesting ...
