True. At times people criticise the children for being spoilt, self centred, rude and so on but we fail to see the reality. The truth is parents fail to nurture them properly and instill good values in them. It's not their fault but the parents fault.

The problem with Indian shows is also that such kids then are shown as improving overnight thanks to the heroine who has to be the best mother figure in the universe. The only exception was Ansh… and we know what his eventual fate was. But even he would have been shown as a redeemed man had he not crossed a line and assaulted Nandini. That fortunately was not shown as an act that could be pardoned. However it takes Tulsi finding out that Ansh had been responsible for Vishal’s death and widowing his own sister for her to be able to pull that trigger on him too. Until that admission her hands are shaky.

Regarding character of an human

research says 30 to 60% of human character comes from DNA

that is you are 30 to 60% like your parents and grandparents and twin siblings

Rest is your teachers, friends, colleagues, boss, mentor etc outside world influences

That does not mean this DNA inherited characters of up to 60% cannot change

It can in future change only if that person wants

Like in school in fear of punishment kids mask their true character

or in office too employee play acts or they will be kicked out of job

so its not like character is permanent if person want he can change

but mostly changes happen at younger ages before 40

after 40 tough to change someone chracacter unless some grave incident happens that forces character change

like death of a family or you lose everything become poor or threat to life etc

usually character remains same after 40 plus

Agree and everything falls into the wife's hands to change his behaviour. Regarding Ansh he was the worst of all the Viranis. He called upon himself the way he received his end.

Crazy part was that when the Viranis only knew that they had a son out there somewhere who was their kin, they started looking for him; which fine. Not once did it occur to them he might have a well settled family of his own that wouldn’t want to give up on him just because he isn’t theirs by blood and because the bio family has shown up all this time later looking for him.

It’s a different story that he was raised by a single father who always knew Ansh was his adopted son. But then the Viranis discover what sort of a father Ansh ended up being raised by, what kind of activities he was involved in; they even knew he tried to assault Nandini, intimidate her to sleep with him, pay her any price she asked for, to get her to spend one night in his bed.

And despite everything that they knew, they genuinely thought that they could redeem him once he was brought to SN. That was the craziest part about the whole track.

I couldn’t even believe it back then and now, with almost a decade and some years later, my incredulity has just grown. Who in their right mind thinks that such a person can be redeemed? That they are only misguided.

He was a literal criminal and not of the petty thief or pickpocket sort either but hardcore criminal. I remember Payal mentioned that the Gujrals were being investigated by FERA. Small time criminals aren’t even worth the trouble of getting a FERA officer to take a complaint against them seriously. They’re likely to laugh at you and ask you to go to a police station than waste their time.

The Viranis thought blood = redemption possible. All because Tulsi had managed to redeem Gautam and Karan. What they never once bothered to think about was that in their own ways Gautam and Karan were both traumatised kids underneath their egos and attitude problems. They had rough childhoods and they genuinely craved for the love of family which included parents, siblings and being accepted.

Ansh was nowhere in the same ship as them. Nature can only do so much when nurturing is so terrible and grotesque.

I think that’s why Ansh is remembered even today as a character. He probably stands as the only exception to the rule of Indian TV shows where missing kids suddenly turn up as the long lost son/daughter of the main leads. The mother manages to make their wayward child into a good person by love, care and literal thrashings if necessary too. Ansh was the only irredeemable child to be shown on Indian TV for these sorta storyline.

He’s the only one who proved that sometimes nurturing triumphs over nature and there’s nothing to be done about it.

Forget about life outside Shanti Niketan. When Tulsi informed Mihir about Ansh's sexual assault on Nandini he chose to trust this criminal and not her. This was the craziest part. Mihir and the Viranis knew his past but yet they ignored. I was happy Tulsi killed him.

Mihir categorically said how can you say that he assaulted her. He’s her husband.

It’s like the concept of husbands being downright abusive and heinous was so foreign to him that he had no clue such a thing existed until Tulsi spoke of it. He had to have been in his 50s by then for sure if not older! Kyunki truly went where no show had dared to go before with this track and euthanasia with Savita later.

I wonder sometimes what could be the topic that could provoke such a similar shock value and ignite conversations that could probably never had before all these years later now in 2026? I can think of digitally altered pictures/videos but it’s not as if the topic is original now. Shows have already addressed this. I thought initially with Hrithik Munni they might include topics like online dating and how it’s a potential landmine in these times but they never went there once Munni was revealed to be the online friend.

Today’s episode should be titled - Filler hai bhai, kaleshi bua ko dekhne ka shauk ho toh dekhna.

The episode was dominated by the bua. It was about appeasing her ego and she’s not even an important character who matters smiley44

Skip it, won’t make a difference.
