Now Ekta realises what gets TRP . The show would have topped much earlier if she had realised before.
38 year marriage was a mistake.
They should gone for 25 years.
And Karan Nandini should been parallel leads.
Mihir Tulsi main leads keeping Noyna as the negative character and bringing old bahus back.
It would have been always #1 with much higher ratings.

Mihir playing with Tulsi’s hair is IMO the best thing about tonight’s episode because it shows a level of subtlety that rarely is depicted on Indian Television.
Touching someone’s hair is an extremely intimate thing. Think about it, do you allow just anyone to touch your hair? Would you like a random stranger to touch it? Even within family, exactly how many people touch your hair? Your mum and dad when you’re a kid and they practically bathe you, do your hair yada yada, siblings when they’re being irritating, mom/granny when giving you a head massage or oiling your hair; but beyond that even in your immediate family and amongst the closest of friends, exactly how many people touch your hair? More importantly, how many do you allow to touch your hair? When we go to salons to get our haircut, most of us are very picky and anxious about who gets to cut our hair. Some of us have a hairstylist we trust and unless they’re around, we don’t even get a haircut.
That’s how important and personal hair is to us as a part of our body.
Touching someone’s hair, playing with it - especially a woman’s open hair is akin to expressing desire for them. It’s one of the most erotic experiences when it happens in bed and that’s exactly where they staged this moment too. It expresses subtly without any loud in your face OTT gesture that in his heart Mihir still desires Tulsi and only Tulsi.
Having her in bed with him again after so long was enough to stir those emotions up in him, even now… and that desire is a part of the love that he still feels only for her.
In ancient times women would often keep their hair tied up in buns or wear headscarves or something to cover their hair. It would happen until as recently as the early 1900s I believe, but then things started changing. Women started cutting their hair short, going bareheaded and keeping their hair open as a style statement for fashion.
In Indian culture if you look at statues and carvings be it in old Indian Mandirs or other monuments or artefacts that you could find in the world’s largest Chor Bazaar aka the British Museum amongst other places, you would notice that the statues of women would depict their hair in elegant hairstyles or even if it was a simple bun or plaits, there would be flowers, gajras or hair accessories. In fact, we wear them even now during weddings mostly and the sheer amount of variety found in hair accessories from North to South India is stunning and mind boggling.
Ironically, despite being an important part of what makes someone attractive, biologically hair is made up of dead cells infused with protein. Hence why we can cut hair or tie it up without any pain, and don’t literally feel anything when it’s touched.
Mihir could touch a part of Tulsi that speaks of his desire, his passion and love for her; but he could also only touch a part of her that she literally wouldn’t feel his touch upon like she could have easily had his fingers so much as touched her shoulder, elbow or arm.
She wouldn’t like him touching her and wouldn’t want him to touch her, let alone allow it in the privacy of that room with no one else around for them to put up an act for. But with this, he can still touch a part of her, and she wouldn’t even know. What’s he touching is also biologically speaking a dead part of her, and it’s a parallel to the state of their marriage from her end, her love for him and whatever feelings she had that have died with her trust in him 6 years ago.

Beautifully put!!! I don't know if this is what the writers intended to show, but you have made it that much more meaningful with your words!

Yep and I am glad that the editor or at least the team responsible for editing, perhaps some AD seem to be watching and going over the old episodes - at least the ones until Amar was on the show as Mihir since they’re using FBs from that time too as we saw today as well with that FB of him touching her hair when they looked so young.
Those FBs being included is so insane and surreal at the same time it adds realism to the idea that these two have been together for decades. Because they really look so young in those clips. You totally see why Ekta decided Amar should be brought back as Mihir and approached him and not Ronit. Amar being the OG Mihir was gonna add to the nostalgia but also, their clips really do give us the impression that this is a couple that has spent a lifetime together. It’s like watching old pictures and videos of our parents, uncles and aunts when they got married from the 80s or 90s. They look so young and different than they do now and that’s the beauty of their journey as a couple. With each new album that gets included in their collection you see how they grew old together with each other and raised a family.
Ronit joined the show when they had already opted for a Gen leap, and always looked older than Smriti even back then. With Amar, they can very well show them in their early 20s and now with 44 years of marriage, they’re in their early to mid sixties and honestly it doesn’t come across as far fetched either, though I believe both Amar and Smriti are in their late 40s or early 50s.

Thank you ☺️
Loved the episode today.
Have already written a short essay about Mihir touching Tulsi’s hair so won’t repeat it but I liked the Antakshari scene too.
Kyunki S1 would occasionally have similar scenes of the family playing Antakshari and this made me nostalgic. It’s crazy how these days shows easily break into song sequences, some even use AI generated weird backgrounds and what not (*cough*
) to make them look grand even if they come across as tacky… but we rarely see something as simple as an Antakshari sequence. Crazy considering how growing up it was such a huge part of life from picnics to get togethers to even watching Anu Kapoor being an absolute menace to his cohosts while hosting Antakshari, the OG game show that aired on Zee TV in the 90s.
They look so cute in these.
