I think both father daughter are realizing that the underlying pulse of the audience preferences have changed so much and how and none of their upcoming movies caters to the audience preference. I called this damage control and pretentious behaviour to now say they’ve always loved these people when their past behaviour shows anything but that. He’s gonna take a lot more than Instagram posts and references to phone conversations to convince the audience that they’ve always loved Yami

KJo dude, this was literally like "aa bail mujhe maar". There was absolutely no need for such excessive praise. Simple recognition of her performance would have sufficed.

Yami is the case of an actress who is only getting attention now based on who her husband is. It's not her own achievements which make her stand out, just who she's married to so I have little respect for that. If she wasn't married to Aditya Dhar, no one would have anything to say about her.

I watched her in Haq and thought she delivered a good performance. Film itself was boring. Emraan Hashmi was on autopilot and the courtroom scenes I was not invested in the way I was in Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway. That was a much more successful biopic/legal drama imo. But Yami is missing that X-Factor that you need to be a top actress in mainstream cinema. She will never be a Madhuri/Aishwarya/Deepika/Katrina/etc. And even in terms of smaller, independent cinema, I don't find her as versatile or exciting as Konkona or Taapsee.

For the same reason Alia is being called out that Kiara never had anything to say about Yami until after Dhurandhar's success and now, like most of BW, she's scurrying to earn favor with the Dhar family by praising Yami.

I can't post links but 8 days ago, there's a Reddit thread titled "Kiara posts a story praising haq in favour of yami" with the same complaints and criticism we're seeing towards Alia here. It was right after Haq was released on Netflix.

That's really unfair to Kiara.

One can agree to disagree as to what one likes/dislikes. In my personal opinion, if Yami wasn't praised until now it was for a reason. One only needs to look at her filmography and see why. It is only recently that she's had good performances so it is but obvious that it is only now that she would be praised.

Nobody knows if it's PR or not and if so whose PR it is. You're just projecting at this point. Alia doesn't do "Flower-Pot" roles at this point of her career. There is no debate to be had here. If she wanted free blockbusters, she could've had 10 by now. She's rejected tons of them. Even for her Hollywood debut, as terrible as it was, she chose an author backed role, rather than being Vin Diesel's arm candy.

What does a “free blockbuster” even mean? All of these large scale action movies are very high budget movies that are expected to become blockbusters. Yea, you lost me.

The only flower pot role that she was strongly rumored to have rejected was Kriti’s role in Dilwale, and both Rohit and SRK wanted her opposite VD because their pairing was very popular back then. Other than what other roles has she rejected and how do you know she’s rejected them?

15 years of career, filled with playing author backed roles stolen from the other deserving and hardworking actors, still no blockbuster nor any memorable roles where her role became a part of the pop culture...The frustration and desperation is real and it's showing...

As for the roles a Katrina, Deepika or a Priyanka can do..., Alia can never...She has no body nor the looks..She tried in Shaandaar and we know how it went....She has to eventually settle down as a character artist like her mom, once her Jo papa's influence completely dries up....
