When you remain in situations that constantly hurt you, demand endless adjustment, or make you question your own worth, you slowly begin to lose yourself.

That kind of loss doesn’t happen overnight. You don’t collapse dramatically, you fade. Your boundaries blur, your voice grows quieter, and your identity starts revolving around keeping peace rather than being true to yourself. In such moments, stepping away becomes necessary, not to punish anyone, but to protect what remains of you.

Distance gives perspective. It allows you to breathe, heal, and hear your own voice again without noise, guilt, or pressure. Only then can you truly reconnect with yourself stronger, clearer, and more grounded than before.

Sometimes, walking away isn’t a failure of love or duty. It’s an act of self respect. And choosing yourself before you disappear is not selfish it’s necessary.

I don’t think they’re going to bring in a rape track. In Season 1, it worked because Ansh was already established as a psycho. The makers spent a significant amount of time building his character, to the point where the audience was already despising him well before the rape track even happened.

When they repeated a similar track with KT, it lost much of its impact. It felt more like repetition than meaningful storytelling. If they attempt the same thing again in Season 2, I think it will come across as even more hollow and unnecessary.

For such a track to have weight, the makers would need to invest significant time in establishing the antagonist’s mindset and descent. Given the current pacing and direction, I don’t see them doing that. If they simply recycle past ideas without proper buildup, it won’t add value it’ll just dilute what once worked

Everyone has their own likes and boundaries. His anger and sense of betrayal were understandable given that she hid the truth about being his online friend, someone he had been emotionally invested with. If he had rejected her by saying he didn’t see her romantically or that he felt his trust was broken, I would have completely agreed with him and stood by his decision.

Where I draw the line is how he chose to reject her. He didn’t stop at incompatibility or hurt; he went a step further and told her how she could even imagine him settling with a maid. That crossed from rejection into disrespect. Anger can explain his tone, but it doesn’t justify shaming someone for their profession.

Every job has its own dignity. Had Munni not been a maid say she was someone he met elsewhere, even if she came from a middle or lower-middle-class background, I genuinely believe he would have dated her. His issue wasn’t class in general; it was the stigma attached to her being a maid.

That’s why, regardless of how circumstances have changed now, I don’t feel Munni owes him another chance. The problem was never his right to say no it was the way he stripped her of dignity while doing so.

That said, knowing the makers, I fully expect them to push this pairing anyway. Mithali has been written as neither a supportive wife nor a good mother, so they can’t realistically keep Hrithik stuck in a toxic marriage for long. The easiest narrative route is to show a divorce and then move him forward through remarriage. Given how these stories usually unfold, it’s quite likely they’ll eventually steer the plot toward Munni and Hrithik getting married and living a “happily ever after,” even if it doesn’t feel emotionally earned and might stretch it too by making Mithali the villain who wants to separate Hrithik-Munni.

Bingo.

I don’t blame him for rejecting her either. When we say that a girl should be allowed to reject the romantic interests of a friend/colleague/neighbour/acquaintance based solely on her comfort and personal preferences, the same liberties and rights are also applicable to a guy. He doesn’t have to reciprocate feelings for someone just so that they don’t get hurt or feel rejected or whatever. No one deserves to be pushed into a relationship against their will.

It was his decision always; his hurt and anger were justified but he imposed his own insecurities about his looks on her and chose to humiliate her while rejecting her. That was out of line and bound to leave a lasting impact on Munni as well. She had it coming too but he took it too far.

He doesn’t get to appreciate her now and want her in his life simply because he’s now suffering courtesy of a wife of his status. The sheer fact that he would marry the niece of the woman who wrecked the marriage of his parents is itself so incredulous that it’s beyond shocking and comprehensible.

Hrithik couldn’t honour his mother enough to deny marrying Mittali even after everything. And I am not even including that she was once on the verge of marrying his older brother and Hrithik possibly knew about the ghost drama, gambling addiction etc from Angad. I believe Angad would have told him everything. He definitely doesn’t deserve to get a girl like Munni who would have treated him better and loved him unconditionally even when he looked like a nerd.

Even with his argument with Mitali, it was just him shunning mitali off because the processing of munni now sharing a respectable position wasn't properly projected.

I agree that the execution has felt half-baked so far. The transition from Munni the maid to Munni the collector hasn’t been processed properly on screen, which is why Hrithik’s reactions can feel abrupt or confusing.

That said, I strongly feel Munni–Hrithik will be endgame, purely from a writing and production perspective. The makers aren’t going to keep Hrithik trapped in a toxic marriage for long. Kyunki has always relied on multiple kids (usually with min of 2 kids) for generational leaps smiley36, and by slowly positioning Mithali as the villain, they get easy conflict, kalesh, and mileage which can stretch the story and add additional episodessmiley36

Coming to Hrithik’s reaction to Munni - I don’t read it as admiration. It feels more like shock than respect. The shock that the same girl who once worked as a maid in his house is now an IAS officer. That’s very different from being inspired by her journey or valuing her as a person.

Even in the Mithali scene about rehiring Munni, it felt more like comparison than admiration. Mithali is still being shown as manipulative and money-minded, while Munni has independently achieved something meaningful. So he was just shunning her away. And for me this isn’t admiration, It’s disbelief. And knowing ITV storytelling, disbelief is often used as a shortcut to romancesmiley36. Whether that journey feels organic or simply convenient will decide if this pairing feels powerful or painfully forcedsmiley36

I understand.

Ironically this show seems like Grey’s Anatomy, and Ellen has decided that she’s not quitting until the show ends! That show has been on air for more than 20 seasons now and at this point it frankly feels like it might take an asteroid/UFO filled with literal aliens colliding with Meredith to finally kill her and save humanity because lord knows so many worldly disasters, diseases and dangers have tried killing that woman but failed! It might truly take something out of this world to finally get the job done so that show can end!

No, she deactivated the account before the leap news came because she got tired of waiting for the new gen leap and lost interest in the show itself. That show has the worst ml I have ever seen on itv. All he does is go around giving false hopes and promises to innocent women about love and marriage and then breaks them apart. He either drives them to suicide, becomes a zinda laash or make them lose their life entirely. He also loves kidnapping babies from mothers, snatching mangal sutra, cheating, dumping bride in an mandap and so much more. But after all that he doesn’t get punished nor called out. Instead he’s always the victim number 1 and everyone else including fl gets blamed. Shahi is obsessed with his ml so never gives him any suffering or any punishment. That’s why he’s keep dragging this gen too due to his liking for the ml. I got so sick of the ml character, so I stopped watching it.

About the Grey anatomy, I tried watching but I couldn’t. I can’t handle patients dying and all. Real life is enough to see patients. So I stopped watching 😭😂

People need space, even in day to day life. Even if for five minutes you want some time to yourself. It’s not a crime. You need to be considerate about yourself before you can care for others. Else you might be the problem and victim both at once.

People think a weeping Angad or Vrinda have the rights to call out Tulsi but have they even tried to put themselves in her shoes? Their marriage was one of the things that contributed to this mess, in fact it was the final blow. Noyna could get Mihir to come and rescue her and then shit hit fan all because Angad couldn’t talk to his dad.

Pari herself was the problem so there was nothing to be done there back then but Angad could have simply exposed Mittali back then and stood his ground. He didn’t let anyone besides Noyna and Suchitra know the ghost drama thing, the whole gambling addiction thing and then trusted this girl stupidly to call off their marriage. She was not even coming clean to her mom and aunt, her only family about her problems until he cornered her and forced her and he believed her to do what he asked without any basis to trust her in the first place. Then he elopes, gets married on the same day to a different girl and thinks nothing of the mess he created for his mom even now.

It’s crazy how Tulsi hasn’t once snapped at Angad or Vrinda for their decisions but would still apologise to them. She probably thinks it doesn’t matter as Mihir did what he did regardless of what the reasons were, but it’s mind boggling that we see Angad weeping for mummy and are supposed to forget his role in the mess just because he keeps crying for mummy like a good boy. Back then he was under stress or whatever, immature; but 6 years down the line and he doesn’t seem to have realised his role in the mess. He has taken no accountability for his actions also impacting his parents and their marriage in the process. Just crying for mommy doesn’t absolve him of his actions.

Had he handled the situation smarter back then, it’s possible that Noyna wouldn’t have succeeded. It’s possible that she would’ve been exposed in the attempts to get Mihir. Hell, Mihir would have not felt guilty at all for Angad calling off the marriage after Angad had exposed Mittali. Exactly what argument of Noyna’s could have persuaded Mihir to make him ask Angad to marry a girl who lies, gambles, does ridiculous stunts to avoid being caught, tries to malign his image in front of his staff by spreading rumours about his affair with an employee.

So yeah, the whitewashing doesn’t really make a difference when the history stays the same and no accountability is taken.

According to me Angad was wrong in how he handled the mess he created during his marriage. He was immature, panicked, and made choices that clearly worsened an already fragile situation. He should have been transparent, involved the elders, and handled the marriage responsibly instead of eloping. For that, he deserves to be called out.

Where I differ is in treating Angad’s actions as one of the reasons for what Mihir did. Angad’s mistakes may have added stress and emotional chaos, but they cannot be stretched into an explanation for Mihir crossing a line in his marriage. Mihir was not a confused teenager , he was a grown man, a husband, fully aware of the vows he had taken.

Cheating is not a reflex response to pressure. It is a choice. No amount of guilt, stress, or family turmoil forces a person into betrayal. Mihir had options - communication, restraint, boundaries, even walking away but he chose infidelity. That choice belongs to him alone.

Holding Angad partly responsible risks blurring accountability. It shifts focus away from the fact that betrayal in a marriage cannot be outsourced to circumstances or other people’s mistakes. One person’s poor decisions can complicate a situation, but they do not rewrite another person’s moral responsibility.

Context may explain emotions, but it can never excuse betrayal. Accountability cannot be diluted and in this case, it lies squarely where the choice was made.

Is Shahi ever planning to end Rishta or is it meant to run till eternity?

I think the show started in 2009 and still on-going. At this point it feels less like a TV show and more like ancestral propertysmiley36

Leaps come and go, generations change, old people die, new babies cry but Rishta will still be on-goingsmiley36

Honestly, the real question is: will ITV end before Rishta does?

He wanted the 5000 episodes mark for his ego to be known as the longest running show maker, but now that it’s done I am hoping he has lost complete interest in the show. Not that he had it as much before either because the writing on anupama despite having a bad storyline is much better. He gives more focus and attention to anupama than rishta. So hopefully, may be now Rishta will end after completing that 5000 mark even if he’s still trying to drag it 😒

I’m not a Rishta follower, but I used to watch Anupamaa. I stopped soon after she married Anuj because that’s where the writing completely fell apart for me.

She kept running back to her toxic ex-sasuraal for every small issue, constantly parenting her fully grown kids, and even took her adopted child into that same environment where the kid was repeatedly demeaned. She divorced her ex-husband but continued living in the same house, called her ex-sasuraal her “new maayka,” and somehow this was all framed as emotional strength.

What stood out to me even more was that she barely ever spoke about her own mother. I don’t even remember her recalling her mother with the same emotion or frequency as “baa bhagwaan.” It felt like the show glorified self-erasure in the name of sanskaar rather than real growth.

I actually started watching when Anuj entered, thinking ITV was finally attempting a mature love story between two grown adults where woman had a past, kids, and emotional baggage. A woman who had endured years of mental abuse finally choosing herself. But instead, the writing reduced her to a permanent emotional caretaker for everyone except herself.

It began with promise, but turned into repetitive martyrdom. Once it became clear that nothing would truly change, I gave upsmiley36.
